*Weekly News 26.06.20*

Hello everyone,

I hope you’ve had a lovely week and coped with the temperatures!  It has been very hot in school to say the least but we’ve made the most of the sunshine and have been outdoors as much as possible.

Key worker and other children currently attending school/nursery

Just a couple of reminders for children currently attending school/nursery:

  • Only one parent or adult should come onto the school site to drop off and collect children.
  • Children need to have sun cream applied before arriving or they need to be able to apply it themselves if they are bringing it to school. Staff cannot provide or apply sun cream at this time due to the measures in place.

Music Awards

I know that many children who would normally receive private instrumental lessons in school have taken part in online lessons this term instead, and I have received some really good feedback from the Music Service and parents.  Mrs Mew has kindly forwarded me several certificates which she has awarded over the last couple of weeks. Well done to these children and to everyone who has taken part in the Zoom lessons.

Hello Class 5,
This week, I have set you a video task using just one tune.
If you want to practise the tune at your own speed, just pause the video below and use the music on screen, but also later try along with the trombone/piano in the video. Try this each day and you will notice it getting better throughout the week.
I hope you all have a great week!

*Weekly news 12th June 2020*

Hello everyone,

I hope you have had a good week and that you are all well.
This week we have welcomed some of our Reception and Year 1 children back into school, as well as more key worker children. All the staff have been amazed at how well the children have coped with the new routines and safety measures in place. Next week we are really looking forward to welcoming some of our Year 6s and nursery children back into school.

Almost all of our bubbles are now full so if you have not requested a place for your child we cannot guarantee there being a place available at a later date. Teachers are still providing home-learning projects, activities and ideas and please keep sending in photos of what your child has been doing at home. We love to see your photos!

School dinners

If your child would like a school dinner, it must be paid for in advance i.e. on the day they require the meal, and the menu for next week is as follows:

Monday: meatballs and pasta

Tuesday: pizza

Wednesday: fish

Thursday: chicken pasta

Friday: sausage and chips

Children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2, as well as children eligible for free school meals, will all receive a free lunch as normal.

Drop off and collection

Just a reminder that only one parent should accompany their child to the gate / door at drop off and collection, and younger children are asked to stay in the car or stand by their parent and not run around on the car park. This is to keep everyone safe and well and thank you to all the parents this week for adhering to our social distancing measures. We really are very grateful to you all  as we were not quite sure how things were going to work this week and there have been very few teething problems!

And finally …

Somebody in school is celebrating a special birthday on Saturday 13th June. Mr Andrews would have escaped our Arthog weekend because of it being his 21st birthday weekend but he couldn’t escape us celebrating it in school today!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MR ANDREWS!

Have a lovely weekend and stay safe.

Love Mrs Johnson x
