Please can all reply slips be returned by Tuesday 30th at the very latest, as we need to start arranging for photographs to be taken and we cannot do so until all slips have been returned.  If you do not wish your child to appear in the calendar, please can you still return the slip by Tuesday.

School Council

Congratulations to the children who have been voted for as the new members of the School Council.  Class 5 have a representative from both Year 5 and Year 6 to support younger children during discussions and work alongside Mrs Johnson who they will be meeting with in the next couple of weeks.

Well done to:

Yuji (Class 1)

Charlotte D (Class 2)

Jack B (Class 3)

Polly (Class 4)

Lauren W (Class 5 – Year 5)

Oliver (Class 5 – Year 6)

Bus

For younger children who travel home on the school bus, please can you remember to write in your child’s/children’s home-link books if they are going on the bus or are being collected.  If there is no note in your child’s book they will remain at reception until they are collected, as we cannot allow children to go home on the bus if we are not certain that there is somebody there to meet them.  Older children are generally good at remembering  if they are going home on the bus. Thank you for your support with this.

Parents’ Evenings

The online booking system for appointments will ‘open’ on the website on Monday.

Punctuality

We have noticed an increase in the number of children who are arriving after registration in the morning. Please could we ask that your child is in School for 8:55, as the registers are completed as soon as children enter the classroom.

Many thanks.

Weekly News 19th September

Lost uniform

The recent warm weather has seen many children taking their sweatshirts/cardigans off in and around school. Please could you check that all items of your child’s uniform is labelled and that they have not brought home uniform belonging to another child, particularly sweatshirts.

Letters home

Thank you for the great response to next year’s residential visit to Arthog for Years 5 and 6.  If you have not yet done so, please could you return the letter (and deposit if your child is going) as we need to confirm numbers with Arthog.  There are also still a few permission slips outstanding for Year 6 children for Bikeability.

Stottesdon

Letters regarding the Year 3 and 4 visit to Stottesdon, in the Spring term, will be sent out in a couple of weeks time.

After-school Clubs

Thank you to parents who have helped out at different clubs this week; we are extremely grateful for your support.

School Calendar

We are planning on selling a school calendar this year and letters will be sent home early next week regarding permission for your child to be featured in the calendar, information on cost, etc.

Thank you all for your support. Have a nice weekend!

Weekly News 12th September

We’ve had another busy week in school and tried to make the most of the fine weather with outdoor activities.  The older children in the School have been a great help to adults in helping the new entrants settle in, especially during lunchtime in the Hall and during breaktimes.

Parents Evenings

You may have noticed the dates for Parents Evenings on the calendar, at which you will be able to meet with your child’s/children’s class teacher (s) to discuss their progress this term. The booking system will ‘open’ on the website at the end of the month.

Letters Home

Letters sent home this week include: Bikeability and Secondary Transfer (Year 6) and Arthog (Years 5/6)

Term dates

Please could we remind you to look at our School website for term dates, particularly P D days, as these sometimes differ to those shown on Shropshire Council’s website.

Craft Club

Please could we ask for all children to be collected from Craft Club at 4:30 pm at the side Hall door only. Should you need to collect your child earlier, please speak to Mrs Neal at the School Office before going to the Hall.

Parking

If the School car park is full, please could people use the car park at Bicton Village Hall as parking on Bicton Lane can prevent residents from entering and exiting their properties.

Many thanks as always for your support.

Mrs Natalie Johnson

Class 2 cooking club

To start us off nice and easy, we made cupcakes today. The children had lots of fun and we all tried really hard not to eat them all before we got home. They smelt so yummy!
