Well done and thank you

On behalf of all the staff, we would like to say well done again to the Year 2 and 6 children who have worked so hard in the lead up to their SATs and during the tests.  The children’s positive attitude in school and the desire to do well has been wonderful to observe and has made us all very proud of them.

Thank you to everyone who has supported the children at home and also to the rest of the school who have done their best to move around the school quietly during the tests!

School uniform

We have a growing pile of lost property in the corridor, with a range of uniform that is unnamed.  Please could you check that all of your child’s uniform is labelled. Thank you.

Please can any outstanding monies for the 3rd instalment be paid by Friday 27th May at the latest. Thank you in advance for your support with this.

Weekly News 6th May

Warm weather

Now that the weather has finally warmed up, children may want to bring a sun-hat (with their name in) to wear at playtimes.  Please could you also check that your child’s sweatshirts/cardigans are named as they often take these off when they are outside and it is not always easy to match up a pile of clothing with the correct owners. Thank you in advance for your support with this.

Children may bring sunscreen to school, labelled with their name, but it is preferable that this is applied before they leave home in the morning.  We will remind any children bringing sunscreen to school not to share it with other children in case of allergies.

Dates for the diary

These may not all show on the calendar until Monday but future dates include:

No after-school clubs on Thursday 9th June – FOBs event 3:30 (details to follow)

Sports Day Tuesday 21st June – Classes 1/2/3 9:15 – 11:30  Classes 4/5 1:00 – 3:00

Sports Day reserve date Thursday 23rd June (same arrangements as 21st June)

Celebration Assembly Thursday 21st July (changed from Friday 15th July)

Weekly News 15.04.16

It has been lovely to see the children so excited about coming back to school this week and keen to share their news about the holidays.  It’s a busy few weeks now with the Year 3/4 residential visit, trips, swimming sessions starting and SATs and we are grateful for your continued support with activities in and out of school.

Pre-school

The pre-school children have joined us in the school hall for lunch this week and it has been lovely to see them growing in confidence over the past few days.

Mrs McKenna’s new arrival!

Congratulations to Mr and Mrs McKenna on the safe arrival of Theo James 7lb 2oz. Mum and baby are home and doing well.

Netball Club changed

Miss Edwards will now be running Computing Club on Mondays instead of Netball Club. Next week the club is open to everyone in Year 3 to 5 but if numbers are too high Miss Edwards may have to draw up a rota to limit the numbers of children attending.

Uniform

Just a reminder that children are only permitted to wear royal blue sweatshirts/cardigans/ hooded cardigans to school and no other coloured tops should be worn.  Thank you.

The children have been practising counting on in 10 to 100. They made stacks of 10, then matched the correct number to  the stacks.
