Müller Yogurt Competition

The School kitchen are running a competition for children to design a new flavour of Müllerlight yoghurt, in conjunction with a lunch promotion on February 14th.  There are some fantastic prizes to win and every child has been given an entry form today. If your child would like to enter, they need to return their form by Friday 10th February.  Good luck everyone!

Lost Property

We have a large amount of unlabelled uniform in the Lost Property box outside Class 1.  If your child has mislaid any of their uniform, please could you check the box just in case you recognise anything that belongs to them. Thank you.

Special Menu – Chinese New Year

There is a change to next Friday’s menu and the School kitchen will be serving a special Chinese New Year menu instead.  The menu can be viewed here Chinese New Year.

Red: Chicken Balls    Blue: Pork balls    Green: Quorn balls

Car Park Safety

We have reminded children in school about being aware of moving vehicles in the car park. Please could you remind your child about staying close to you in the car park and not running in between/in front of/behind vehicles. Thank you.

Disabled Parking Spaces

We have several disabled parking spaces on site and it is vital that these are kept clear for use by adults with blue badges or mobility difficulties. Please do not use these spaces unless you are a blue badge holder and/or have mobility difficulties.  Thank you in advance for your cooperation with this.

Forest School

We are pleased to let you know that when you shop at Tesco this month you will be given a blue token (if the cashier forgets, ask them for their charity tokens).  You can use this to vote for Forest School Sessions at our school.  The scheme is called Forest Meets Garden. The more votes we get the more likely we are to be able to offer more Forest School Sessions.

Thank you for your support

Head Lice – Reminder

Following last week’s newsletter, please could we ask you to check your child’s/children’s hair for head lice.  We are aware that some children in school have needed treatment again this week, after also needing treatment last week. Thank you in advance for your support with this.

KS2 Cross Country

Several KS2 children expressed an interest in taking part in the final event in The Corbet’s cross country league on Monday 16th after school.   If your child is taking part, please return reply slips on Monday morning (if you have not done so already) so that we have an idea of numbers. Thank you

Quick Sticks Hockey

Well done to the group of children who competed in the hockey tournament at The Corbet earlier this week. Mrs J was very proud of you!

Morning Routines

Now that things are back to normal, and the children are entering their classroom through the infant playground in the morning, just to clarify that we would prefer for children to go into class straightaway when they arrive and not to stay out on the playground.  During the autumn term we found that children settled much quicker and it prepared them for the day ahead by going straight into class so we are keen to continue this.  If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to speak to me or your child’s class teacher (s).

Allergy Forms

Thank you for the allergy forms returned to date.  We will presume that children for whom we have not received a form do not have any allergies.

Year 5 Bikeability

Please could the Bikeability letters be returned as soon as possible.

Pantomime – Advance Notice

We have booked seats for all classes to see the pantomime at Theatre Severn in December.  We thought we’d mention it now just in case you were super organised and decided to buy tickets yourself!  A letter regarding costs and times etc will be sent out in September.

Snow

In the event of bad weather, please check to see if the School is open before travelling to the site. This can be done by:

  • Checking the school website
  • Listening to BBC Radio Shropshire 96.00 FM for the list of school closures
  • Checking the list of school closures on www.shropshire.gov.uk

If the school is closed, we will try and make a decision as early as possible and will intend to re-open as soon as we can. Please refer to the snow and bad weather guidance in the public area of our school website (Policies page) for more information.

Have a good weekend.

Mrs Johnson
