Gardening evening 12.07.17 – help needed!

Can anybody spare an hour this Wednesday after clubs have finished?  David Orrell and Graham will be at school from 4:30 onwards and they would really appreciate some extra pairs of hands to lay more bark on the paths and install the rest of the musical instruments in the wildlife garden.

If you are able to help, please speak to myself or to Mrs Orrell or just leave a message for us at the school office.

Thank you in advance for your support.

Weekly News 07.07.17

Miss Bellis Leaving

It is with huge sadness that we inform you that Miss Bellis will be leaving us at the end of the summer term. Miss Bellis is going to university in September so we wish her good luck for the future and say thank you on behalf of all the children, staff and governors for all her hard work and commitment to the school over the last four years. She will be greatly missed!

There is a collection in the school office towards a leaving gift, if you would like to make a contribution.  Many thanks.

ITV’s Save Money: Good Food programme

Please see information below from the producers of the ITV programme Save Money: Good Food. They are looking for families around the UK who would like the opportunity to help reduce their food shopping bill and learn some tasty new recipes.

Transition Day – Thursday 13th July

Next Thursday, all the children will be spending the day in their September classes to coincide with our new entrants’ final taster session and the Year 6 children going to The Corbet School for their visit day. Children should go to their current classes as normal in the morning and they will then go to their ‘new’ class after Open the Book.

FOBS End-of-Year BBQ and PJ the DJ

We hope to see as many people as possible at the FOBS event next Friday after school.  This will be a lovely way to end what has been a very successful year and an extremely busy term!

Cancelled Clubs

Please remember to check the website carefully for clubs running the final 2 weeks of term.  Cross Country and Brill Club have now finished for the summer term.

Garden: harvest, frogs and art!

On Monday a few children had a “taste” of the garden and all it has to offer, harvesting cucumbers (which have been served at lunch), “smiley” peas (frozen to make salad for the BBQ next week), meeting the poly tunnel frogs (we saw 2), wondering at pond life.  Also shown is a selection of the glass fusion tiles, made as part of the Tesco Bags of Help Sensory and Wildlife Garden, which are being framed for display in a garden entrance arch.
