Year 6 – School Transport for September 2021

Any parents/carers of year 6 pupils, who wish to apply for free school transport for their child/children from September 2021, should do so before 31st May 2021. Applications can be made online at www.shropshire.gov.uk or over the phone with the Council’s Customer Service Team by calling 0345 6789008. Alternatively, should you require a paper copy of the application form, please do not hesitate to contact the school or Passenger Transport directly via email, schooltransport@shropshire.gov.uk or over the phone on the above telephone number. It is important to explain that, if the application is not received by 31st May 2021, the Authority may be unable to provide transport for the beginning of the autumn term 2021 and parents/carers will need to make their own transport arrangements. Access to school transport is not permitted until entitlement has been confirmed.

Show Racism The Red Card!

We have had a wonderful day in school today raising awareness for the charity Show Racism the Red Card.

The children have all produced some fantastic, thoughtful artwork and we will be sharing some of this with you virtually next week.

We have raised over £100 for the charity so thank you very much for making a donation and taking part!

Wear Red Day – Reminder

Dear Parents/Guardians,

On Friday 16th October, Hazel, Rowan, Maple and Oak will be marking “Wear Red Day” in support of the “Show Racism the Red Card” charity. Each class will be creating pieces of artwork to symbolise the continuing fight against racism and discrimination, and to celebrate our differences.

We are asking the children in these classes to wear something red and bring a £1 donation to the charity. This is going to be a really exciting day for the children, and we are looking forward to seeing the art work that is produced! We will be sharing some pieces of work via a virtual exhibition on the school website on week beginning 19th October.

Thank you

First Week!

Oak Class have had a fantastic first week back at school.  It has been wonderful to have the classroom full of children again, and watching them reconnect with each other has been lovely.

They have already risen to the responsibility of being our oldest children in school and role models to the younger children, and have been busy applying for various roles of responsibility within school.  Further details about these will be released in due course!

Curriculum information will be sent out next week, but in the meantime P.E will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  Please send children to school wearing their P.E kit on these days – there are no changing facilities available in school.

Have a lovely weekend, and I look forward to seeing you on Monday.
