Weekly News 21.04.23

Hello everyone,

We’ve had a great first week back. The children were very excited about being able to play on the field and we’ve made the most of the sunshine at playtimes!

Industrial action

Please see a letter below which was given to all children today. We will let you know if the arrangements change, and we thank you for your support and understanding.

Coronation Party – Friday 5th May

On the afternoon of Friday 5th May, we are having a Coronation party on the infant playground. We would like children to come to school wearing red/white/blue. Parents are warmly invited to join us between 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm. FOBS will be selling refreshments and sweets, and details of competitions will follow next week.

Have a good weekend.

Arthog Reminder

Thank you for the the new bookings this week for our Year 5 / 6 visit to Arthog in June. Please see a reminder of the letter below, which was sent out last half term.

Arthog Parent Letter – January 2023

If you would like your child to attend, and you have not yet done so, we would be grateful if your could book their place on sQuid and pay a deposit.  Please note, we need to give Arthog our final numbers by Friday 5th May.

The gallery below gives you just a taste of the Arthog experience!

Parking Reminders

Parking on Bicton Lane

Please do not park on the yellow zig zag lines on Bicton Lane or on/near the pedestrian crossing. This makes crossing the road very dangerous to pedestrians and is a hazard to other vehicle users. We have received several complaints over recent weeks from residents and other vehicle users and we thank you in advance for adhering to this request and keeping the families coming to and from our school safe.

Easter Fundraising

Thank you for the amazing response to our Easter shop. Mrs Jones’ has been rushed off her feet this week and completely sold out of gifts! Thank you for your donations of gifts and for sending children in with money to spend.

Thank you also to Mrs Bailey for making over 100 Easter cookies for children to buy today. The Easter shop raised a grand total of £350 which will be put towards classroom resources and our coronation party.

Thank you also to FOBS for organising the Easter raffle and to everyone who purcased tickets. Sadly, I did not win anything and I’d had my eye on the Creme eggs and Malteser bunnies! Ticket sales totalled £235 and we are very grateful to FOBS for their hard work and ongoing support.

Weekly News 31.03.23

Hello everyone,

Thank you to everyone who was able to join us in church this morning. I’m sure you will agree, it was a lovely service and we are so proud of all the children. What a perfect end to the spring term!

Attendance and Punctuality

We have seen a significant rise over the past fortnight in the number of children arriving late and after the gate has closed at 8:45 am. Please make sure your child arrives between 8:35 am and 8:45 am. Children who enter school via the school office, after the gate has closed at 8:45 am, are marked as late.

Even though the gate closes at 8:45 am, teaching staff are in class to support children with their learning from 8:35 am onwards, so the earlier children are in school the more beneficial it is for them.

We celebrate weekly attendance and punctuality every week in our Friday worship.

Last week, Year 5s overall had the highest attendance.

This week, Willow had the best punctuality (least number of lates) and Oak had the highest attendance.

Thank you for your support in making sure your child has good attendance and arrives at school on time.
