Stars of the term!

A huge well done to our stars of the term: Kallum, Logan, Frankie and Joshua.  These are children who have consistently shown our school values this term.  We are very proud of all of you.

Congratulations too to Immy, Ernie and Florence who won the prizes for getting the closest guess in our ‘guess the number of mini eggs’ competition!

Head of School Message

Dear parents/carers,

We have made it to the end of a very long term and I hope you are all enjoying the holidays! I think the children are exhausted but I was so proud of them for giving it their all in the Easter Service on the last day.  They sang their hearts out and thank you so much to those that managed to join us.

We also had a hugely successful Easter Fair yesterday after school which was really well attended by our school community.  Thank you to Sam and the FOBs team for their hard work ‘behind the scenes’ and helping to raise funds for our school and nursery.

We have lots of exciting things to look forward to in the next (very short) half term.  Year 3/4 will be starting their weekly swimming lessons at Shrewsbury School, some Year 4 and 5 children will be going to a tournament at the Shrewsbury Town Football Club, and our Year 6s will be taking their SATs.  The Year 6 children have been absolute stars this term and I am sure they are ready for a break!

Have a lovely Easter holiday and we will be well-rested and ready to welcome the children back to school on Monday 28th April.

Playground games

Back in October, Rowan in Oak Class raised over £1000 for school games equipment.  Here is just a small selection of the items Rowan chose – the children can’t wait to use them at lunch and breaktime.  Thank you Rowan!

Schools’ football week

This Week kicked off the 2025 National School’s Football Week sponsored by Pokémon and all of the children really got stuck in and showed some amazing football skills alongside our school values. During break and lunchtimes, children have completed a number of challenges demonstrating their shooting, passing and agility. Some of our KS2 girls also attended a girls football tournament and did the school very proud!

Head of School Message

Dear parents/carers,

It has been a lovely week in school and the children have coped well with the clock change – better than some of the grown ups! They have been busy in school this week enjoying our Schools’ Football Week.  This was organised by Mr Andrews who is in charge of our PE provision and run by children in Oak Class every break and lunchtime.  Each day had a different challenge and house points to be earned.  We will be announcing the overall winners next week but all children received a small prize for taking part.  It was wonderful to see the children showing such perseverance and teamwork together.

A reminder that next week is the last week of the Spring term with school finishing on Friday 11th April for the Easter holidays.  All afterschool clubs will be running as usual next week and a details for clubs next term will be sent out next week.

We are very much looking forward to our Easter Family Fun at 3pm – 5pm on Thursday 10th April on the school field.  Please collect your child from the usual place from 3pm and then make your way around to the field.

Have a lovely sunny weekend,

Mrs Mavin
