Shropshire Council Determined Admission Arrangements 2016/17 – (Information from the Local Authority)

The Admission Arrangements 2016/17 for Shropshire Council’s community and voluntary controlled schools were formally determined by the Council on 25 March 2015 in accordance with the School Admissions Code.  The only amendment to the admission arrangements for community and controlled schools as determined in March 2014 was a reduction in the admission number for Trinity CE Primary School in Ford from 25 to 23.  A copy of the arrangements for 2016/17 will be available on the Shropshire council website www.shropshire.gov.uk/schooladmissions from 1 May 2015.

Other Shropshire schools such as aided schools or academy trusts, who are an admission authority in their own right, have determined their own arrangements, following consultation if necessary.  Their policies can be found by following the link on the web page given above, or by visiting the school’s own website.

Any objections to admission arrangements must be made to the Schools’ Adjudicator by 30 June2015. Further information on how to make an objection can be obtained from the Office of the Schools Adjudicator:  https://www.gov.uk/government/organisations/office-of-the-schools-adjudicator.

Carol Sneddon (Admissions Manager, Shropshire Council)

Hope you all have a nice Bank Holiday weekend.

Website Changes

We’ve made some minor changes to the website’s navigation this week so you may need to refresh your browser to see the changes take effect.

The parents’ area home page is now called ‘News Flow‘ as it contains news from all departments. Main office news is still found under ‘Main News‘ and classroom news is under the Classes menu item (Class 1, Class 2, Class 3, Class 4 and Class 5).

In order to make things easier to find, we’ve made a new Clubs page which shows all the upcoming clubs in a diary type layout. This means the event calendar is now easier to sort through as it doesn’t have all the clubs listings cluttering things up!
As always, your feedback is appreciated if you have any new ideas or suggestions for our website and the way we use it.

Class 1 outdoor area

Thank you again to everyone that has donated equipment for Class 1’s outdoor area.

One of our outdoor projects is to make a ‘mud kitchen’. If anyone has any old kitchen utensils they can donate we would be very grateful. We are looking for things like pots, pans, baking and cake trays, plastic/metal bowls, spoons, etc.

Thank you for your continued support.

The 3 Billy Goats Gruff

Class 1 have been looking at the story ‘The 3 Billy Goats Gruff’ this week.  Today the children worked in groups to act out the story with one person acting as the narrator.  They also used the bridges in the play area to act as a prop for the goats to cross.  There was some fantastic acting and good use of character voices!
