Well done to the Choir

Well done to all the choir children who performed at the Harvest Songs of Praise at Bicton Church on Sunday.  It was lovely to see so many families from Bicton School there and Mary-Lou has asked me to pass on her thanks to the children for their wonderful performance.

Late Arrival

We have noticed a significant increase in children arriving late for school over the last week.  Please can we remind everyone that the side gate is locked at 9:00 and any children arriving after this time should enter school through the main door and ensure that Mrs Jones/Mrs Neal has seen them arrive.  The attendance registers are taken at 9:00 so any children not present for the register will be marked as late.

It’s been a very busy first week back and, on behalf of all the staff, I would like to say thank you for your support in helping the children settle back into school so quickly and especially to our Reception parents for encouraging your child to come into school so independently.

Clubs

If you’ve already had chance to look, you will see that there have been several changes to after-school clubs and several new clubs are now being provided.  These are all up-to-date on the website but if you still have any queries, please speak to a member of staff.

Letters home this week:

Year 1 and 2 – flu immunisation.. Please could consent forms be returned as soon as possible.

Year 6 – secondary transfer forms

Have a nice weekend!

Welcome Back

The children seem to have settled back into school life easily and were all very keen to share their summer holiday news yesterday.  We have been very impressed with how our new Reception children have settled in so well and seem to be getting used to daily routines quickly.  Welcome also to Luca and Addison in Classes 1 and 3.

School Dinners

Please remember that your child is entitled to a free school lunch if they are in Reception, Year 1 or Year 2, as part of the government’s Universal Infant Free School Meal scheme.

If you are in receipt of certain benefits, it is important that you still apply for free school meals as this may entitle school to receive Pupil Premium funding which can be used to support your child.  Application forms are available at the school office.

Flu Vaccinations

Year 1 and Year 2 children will be bringing home a flu vaccination letter and consent form today; please can the consent forms be returned to the school office as soon as possible. If you have any queries regarding the vaccination, please see the information on the small noticeboard at the front of the school or speak to Helen or Lisa at the school office who will try to answer any queries.

After-School Clubs

We are currently in the process of arranging after-school clubs for next week onwards and the website will be updated as soon as we have done so.

Many thanks.

Mrs Johnson
