Parent Governor Election

Further to the recent ballot for a new parent governor, all votes received by the end of the school day on Friday were counted and verified today and Mr Steven Davies was duly elected.  We would like to thank all 3 candidates – Steven Davies, Juliette Jennings and Andrew Yamaguchi-Cooke – for standing for election and also to parents who returned ballot papers.

Kind regards

Condover Year 3/4 residential

The next payment is now due for the Condover residential and a letter will be going out next Tuesday which will also include details about when the final balance is due.

Thank You to the Coop

On behalf of all the children and staff, we would like to say a huge thank you to the Coop at Bicton Heath for donating cakes and buns for Class 4’s sale on Wednesday and for supplying the fruit cocktails and other fruits for Class 2’s tasting session earlier this week.  We are very lucky to have such fantastic support from Clive, Laura and the Coop team!

Year 6 SATs Booster

Just a reminder that Year 6 SATs Booster starts on Monday after school from 3:15 until 4:15 in Class 5.  We hope to see as many Year 6s there as possible.

Before-school Clubs

The new 8:30 Club seems to be working well and we hope it has helped parents by being able to drop children off earlier in the morning.  Please could we just remind parents that Breakfast Club runs until 8:30 (£1.50 per child) and children can then pay just 50p to be dropped off from 8:30 onwards. Please do not hesitate to speak to myself or a member of staff in the Hall, if you have any questions about this provision.

Hope you have a good weekend.

Go Kart Party

We have been asked to display the following information.
Go-Kart Party are running Road Safety Awareness Days for Primary school children with some of the local secondary schools in Shropshire during the February half term holidays. It’s a great chance for the children to drive our go-karts, learn how to stay safe and have loads of fun at the same time.
Shrewsbury at Grange Secondary School – Mon & Tues 15th & 16th Feb
Telford at TCAT College – Wed 17th Feb
Oswestry at The Marches School – Thurs 18th Feb
We have had a fantastic response to our courses and they are proving to be very popular across Shropshire due to the high quality of delivery, child care and affordability.

Sporting Events

Well done to all the children who braved the weather to take part in last week’s cross country event at The Corbet, Tuesday’s Year 5/6 hockey team and especially to the U10s football team who played in freezing conditions on Wednesday evening!

Late Arrival

Please could we remind everyone that school starts at 8:55 a.m. and children must be in school when the register is taken at 9:00.  We have seen a significant increase in recent weeks in the number of children arriving at school after the register has been completed and this affects how children settle in for the school day ahead. Any children arriving late also need to make sure that they tell the Office if they would like a school lunch ordering, as the dinner register may also have been completed.

If children are not in school by 9:00 they will be marked as late and persistent late arrival is likely to result in parents/guardians being contacted by the Local Authority.  Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

FOBs Movie Night

We are looking forward to the movie night arranged by FOBs for next Friday evening.  If you haven’t bought your ticket yet, please speak to the school office on Monday to check if any tickets are still available.

School Uniform

Please could you check that your child’s name is in all items of their school uniform, as we have quite a few unnamed items of clothing in Lost Property outside Class 1. Thank you.

Letters out this week:

Parent governor ballot forms – votes must be in by 3:15 p.m. on Friday 29th.

Have a nice weekend.

Cake Sale

Dear Parents/Carers,

On Wednesday 27th January at morning break, Class 4 will be holding a cake sale outside their classroom to raise money for people affected by the recent flooding.

A few of the children in the class had wanted to do something after learning about different natural disasters around the world as part of out topic ‘Extreme Earth’.

Class 4 would like to ask for any donations of cakes, buns or biscuits to be brought in before Wednesday.

The cake sale will be open to all children. Small cakes and biscuits will be 20p. Larger cakes and biscuits will be 50p. Please could children bring in no more than £2.

Thank you for your support,

Class 4
