Parking Measures
Further to the letter sent home on Tuesday, and previous letters and emails, thank you to adults who have parked at the Village Hall or made other arrangements for travelling to and from school. A further letter has been sent home today concerning the following:
We would like to reiterate that there is no parking in the school car park before or after school including when collecting from after school clubs that finish at 4:15 or 4:30. It is still possible to drive into the car park to drop children at the Hall for Breakfast or 8:30 Club and also to collect children from Film Club on Tuesdays after 5:00 p.m. These measures are for everyone’s safety, as well as ensuring that delivery vehicles can access and exit the school site safely, and were discussed at length and agreed by the School’s Governing Body and the Local Authority prior to the commencement of the building work.
It is also imperative that vehicles are not parked on the zig zag lines on Bicton Lane or on the crossing, which has been the case on several days this week, as adults and children are unable to see if it is safe to cross the road and residents cannot see to drive out on to Bicton Lane safely. There are still disabled parking spaces available for badge holders and thank you to parents who have enquired about this. If you have any questions about the current arrangements, please do not hesitate to speak to me.
8:30 Club – no fee during building work from next week
To help ease parking in the village before school, there will be no cost from next week onwards for the 8:30 club whilst the school car park is out of use. Adults can drop children at the Hall between 8:30 and 8:35 at the latest and children will be supervised by a member of staff before being taken to their classes at 8:45. Please ask if you have any questions.
Defibrillator training – Monday 19th September from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m.
We have at last been able to secure a provider to deliver training for our defibrillator which we were able to purchase last year through fund raising and several donations. The training is open to any parents and if you would like to attend please let the Office know. Further details are in the letter attached below.

Finally…
We have had a fantastic first week back and we have been amazed at how well the new children have settled in at Bicton School and enjoyed making friends with the older children. Hope you all have a lovely weekend.
