Loopy Sunday – 8 Feb, 3pm, Mission Church, Bomere Heath

Hello everyone,

A month has gone already since our first Loopy Sunday in January, with our next happening this coming Sunday, 8 Feb, at the Mission Church in Bomere. We’ll gather at 3pm to share food and drink, before exploring themes of forgiveness through the story Jesus told of the Lost Son. We have a journey of prayer planned for the space before we finish with a time to sing. As usual, we aim for the whole thing to take about an hour.

I do hope that you can make it, and if you have any questions please email me on rev.latcham@gmail.com. If you want to let people know about it on facebook then there is a link here to a post that you can share.

Thank you, and God bless,
Dave

Arthog Day 2 Part 3 – Even Wetter!

This afternoon, Miss Merrick’s group braved the slippery boulders and icy waters of Arthog’s fun-filled gorge walk.  The children pushed themselves up through tumbling torrents to reach their final destination – the questionable warmth and shelter of a fragrant minibus.  Despite the cold, there were huge smiles on every face.

Second Day at Arthog Part 2 – Boats!

Miss Merrick’s group launched themselves into nautical action today, losing paddles and scaring waterfowl!  Canoes were driven at speed in interesting directions.  Children learned new skills and challenged themselves, having loads of fun in the process.

KS1 Benchball

A group of KS1 children went to Crowmoor Primary School this afternoon for an afternoon of Benchball.  They were FANTASTIC and won all bar one of their games! They showed such great sportsmanship and our Bicton school values.  Well done all of you!

Second Day at Arthog part 1 – Wet!

Mr Harris’s group enjoyed a brisk walk up an icy gorge this morning.  Despite the cold, the children were undefeated and revelled in a final drenching on the infamous rock slide.  More adventures are planned for this afternoon.

Bake Sale

The Courageous Advocacy School Council are holding a charity bake sale to help raise money for a school in Uganda that is being run by the One Love Project. Miss Merricks will be volunteering at the school later on this month. When she explained to the school council what her role would involve and that she was raising money to help the children (many of whom are orphans), the school council were keen to help.

The children suggested a bake sale and would love your support! We would be very grateful for donations of cakes, cookies, brownies or other baked goods for the bake sale next week Tuesday 10th February. Please remember to label any allergens, if donating home baked goods. Packaged items can be dropped off before the day of the sale and home-baked goods are best brought in on the day.

All items will be sold for 50p each. Thank you for your support!

First Day at Arthog – Everyone Having Fun!

Despite one camera failure, we were able to capture some lovely photos of the Year 6 children enjoying their first day at Arthog 2026.  Everyone had a great first day, ate well, and went to bed early in incredibly tidy dorms (one of those is a teeny weeny fib).
