FOBS are holding a sweet sale after school on Wednesday 19th. Raffle tickets will also be on sale, £1.00 per ticket.

The Christmas Card your child designed will be coming home today. Can we please have all orders returned to the school office by Wednesday 12th December. If paying by cheque, please make the cheque payable to Friends of Bicton School. Thank you.

Following last year’s success, we have been asked by the Co op to decorate some Christmas baubles, which will be displayed at the Co op.  They need to be returned by Monday 10th December,  at the latest.

Now that the weather has turned colder, please could you make sure your child brings a coat, hat, scarf and gloves to school to wear at break and lunchtimes. Thank you.

Harvest Assembly – Thank You

On behalf of all the staff and children, thank you to everyone who was able to join us at our Harvest Celebration Assembly last Thursday. We are sure you will agree, the children performed fantastically and it was a wonderful end to a very busy half-term.  Thank you for all of your Harvest donations which will benefit many people in the Shrewsbury area.

Chester Zoo Trip

If you have not already done so, please can all outstanding permission letters and monies be returned on Monday 5th November. Thank you.  A reminder will be sent home next week regarding our visit but, in the meantime, all children must wear school uniform with sensible footwear and they will need to bring their packed lunch and drink(s) in a rucksack or bag which they can wear on their back/across them.  We will return at 4:30 pm and we have arranged for the bus companies who normally transport children home after school to collect from school at this later time on our return.  (A separate letter will be sent home on Monday to those children concerned.)

Poppies

Poppies and other British Legion merchandise (pencils, rulers, rubbers, etc.) will be on sale at the school office when we return to school next week.

Special Bonanza Menu – Friday 9th November

Next Friday, the school kitchen will be serving a special Bonfire Night menu of:

Village Water Non-Uniform Day

Further to the letter sent home earlier this week, just a reminder that we are having a non-uniform day on Tuesday 16th October to raise money for Village Water. We would like all children to wear something blue and make a donation of £1 each towards the charity. They may bring their wellies if they want to!

Parent Meetings

The booking system is now open for our autumn term parent meetings on Tuesday 23rd October. If you are unable to make an appointment on that day, please speak to your child’s class teacher(s.)

Pantomime Visit

Thank you for the fabulous response to our visit to watch the pantomime in December.  Please can all outstanding monies be paid by next Friday 19th October, as we need to send payment to the theatre. Thank you.

Nut allergies

We have children in school with very severe nut allergies so no packets of nuts or products containing nuts should be brought into school for children’s snack or lunch. Thank you.

We are looking forward to Class 3 parents and family members joining us for lunch next week.

FOBS Spooky Movie Night – CANCELLED

We have decided to defer the FOBS movie night which was due to be held next Friday. It will be rearranged for an evening in November and details will be sent out once the date has been finalised.
