Bicton School Calendar

The Bicton School Calendar has arrived!

They are available to purchase from the school office and the cost is £8.00 for one calendar or £7.50 for two or more.

Santa’s Grotto

Just a reminder that tickets are on sale (£2.50 each) at the Office for Santa’s Grotto.  Santa will be visiting Classes 4 and 5 between 1:00 and 2:00 on Thursday afternoon, before the Christmas Fayre starts so if your child is in either of these classes they will need to have purchased their ticket before he arrives.

We look forward to a great afternoon and would like to say thank you to everybody who has helped in the preparations so far.

Christmas Jumper Day – Friday 12th December

On Friday 12 December 2014 we are asking everyone to wear a festive jumper and donate £1.00 to Save the Children. There are loads of ways to wear it – try tinselling up a school jumper or dig out a woolly and get creative with sequins and snowflakes. If you don’t have a Christmas jumper, wear something else festive instead.

Emergency Closures – Winter Weather

In the event of Bicton School having to be closed due to unforeseen circumstances (loss of heating, extreme weather conditions etc) parents will be informed by the school website, twitter and phone where necessary. (Please ensure you have registered your email address on the school website).

If extreme weather conditions necessitate early morning closure prior to the start of school, we will ring Shropshire Council who will contact all of the local stations to broadcast the closure. Radio Shropshire will broadcast at regular intervals from 7.00am onwards. Shropshire Council will also put regular updates on their website, shropshire.gov.uk/school-closures.

In the event of weather conditions worsening during the school day or power/heating failure, arrangements will be put in place for children to be collected early.

Flora Tubs4Tablets tokens

Dear Parent / Guardian,

This autumn Flora and Stork, in partnership with Tesco, are running an amazing scheme called Tubs4Tablets which aims to help our school bring cutting edge technology into the classroom.

The scheme gives primary and middle schools in Great Britain the opportunity to collect tokens from special tubs of Flora and Stork on sale at Tesco from early October and exchange them for FREE touch screen tablets!

We need to collect as many tokens as possible, these can be found on promotional 500g tubs of Flora Original, Light and Buttery and Stork (subject to availability).
Hand us your tokens… Just 50 tokens will get our school one brand new Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0” Wi-Fi 8GB tablet so help us to claim as many as we can.

Many Thanks.
