Exploring Reactions With Oak Class

Oak Class have been exploring chemical reactions in science this week and had a go at making their very own bath bombs!

KS2 Indoor athletics

Well done to the children who attended the KS2 indoor athletics competition. They showed real passion and determination winning both the boys and girls relay as well as success in many field events!

Willow class gymnastics

Willow class have been enjoying the gymnastics unit this half term in PE. This week, they used the wall mounted climbing frame to practise their climbing and balancing skills.

Netball development day

A small group of children from Oak class attended a netball development day at Shrewsbury sports village. During the morning, children completed a number of bee netball activities and enjoyed some friendly match play in the afternoon.

Year 1’s fieldwork

Year 1 have been busy geographers, investigating the question: ‘What is the most common house type on Bicton Lane?’ To find out, they headed outdoors for some hands-on fieldwork! Armed with an ipad  and tally charts, the children took photos of different houses, counted each type and recorded their findings.

Shropshire Panathlon Bowling

This week, some students attended the North Shropshire Panathlon Ten Pin Bowling event at Hollywood Bowl. It was so lovely to see such joy on all of the children’s faces as well as so many strikes and spares being bowled!

 

Karate Kings!

Well done to Joshua and Joel who both passed the next level of their Karate at the weekend, upgrading their belts. It’s Wonderful to see the boys living out our school vision and really living life to the full.

Micro:bit buzzer games

Maple Class continued using their Micro:bits to create a prototype for their buzzer games. They created and tested their code using a range of inputs, outputs and variables. They will continue to create these games over the coming weeks to create their final product.

 

Micro:bits with Maple

This week, Maple class began coding with our school Micro:bits. Focusing on inputs and outputs, children created name tags using the LED display.

Dodgeball success!

Well done to the Year 6 children who attended the dodgeball tournament this week! Truly showing our school vision and working together as team they managed to achieve an amazing first place despite such fierce competition from other schools.
