Head of School Message

Dear parents/carers,

Another busy week in school this week with NSPCC workshops, the school nurse delivering ‘Brilliant Bodies’ lessons to LKS2, lots of outdoor learning enjoying the sunshine, rounded off with a brilliant ‘crazy hair’ day in support of Comic Relief.  Thank you to all parents/carers for helping your children be part of this, and don’t forget you can donate directly to Comic relief on their website.

Thank you to those of you who got in touch to let us know about the refund requests incurring a charge from sQuid.  We were not informed these charges would be given and so we have submitted a complaint and will let you know in due course if any charges can be refunded.  Hopefully everyone is managing to successfully use the new system we have in place.

Just a quick reminder to please book your parent consultation meetings if you have not already done so.  The link to book is on the homepage of the website.

Fingers crossed we see some more sun over the weekend!

A number of dates have been added to our school calendar:

  • Tuesday April 1st – Wednesday April 2nd – Parent Consultation Meetings. If you have not yet done so, please click here to book.
  • Friday 11th April – Last day of Spring term
  • Thursday 26th June – Sports Day (KS2 am, KS1 pm)
  • Thursday 3rd July – Reserve Sports Day in case of bad weather
  • Friday 18th July 10am – Year 6 Leavers Assembly

Have a lovely weekend,

URGENT: SQUID REFUNDS

URGENT: SQUID REFUNDS
We have been made aware that as part of sQuid’s terms and conditions which parents will have agreed to when they began using the online system, parents will be charged £10 for refunds on their account. Balances under £10 will not be able to be refunded.
We are trying to help parents avoid paying this charge so have set up an ‘offer’ within sQuid called ‘Clubs’. Parents therefore have the option to transfer their remaining balance to this offer, and this will be credit towards any future club bookings. (Balances will need to be transferred to the Trips and Offers purse beforehand).
sQuid will cease payment processing at 4pm so the transfer must be made before this time.

Dear parents/carers,

It has been a fun-packed week in school with our dance workshops from West End in Schools and World Book Day on Thursday.  The classes enjoyed lots of different reading-based activities and making potato book characters which are currently displayed on the corridor! Please enjoy the photos below.

Next week, we have Bikeability sessions for Year 2 on Thursday/Friday.  Please ensure you return the consent form by Monday if you have not done so already.

Now that the lighter mornings are here, we would love to see more children travelling actively to school.  They are awarded a badge at the end of each month if they have enough active travels!

We have noticed a number of children picking the daffodils planted in the raised beds at the front of school. Please do not allow your children to do this and let the office know if you see them being picked.

Our parent meetings will be on Tuesday 1st and Wednesday 2nd April.  Bookings are not yet open but parents/carers will be informed via Class Dojo and the school website when they are available.

Have a lovely weekend,

Mrs Mavin
