Head of School Message

What a brilliant first full week back in school we have had, topped off with a day celebrating Roald Dahl today!

I have been so impressed with the way the children have been coming into school in the mornings.  We have had so many happy faces and punctuality and attendance has been excellent – thank you all very much for your support with this.  The children have all settled well into their new classes and or/new teachers and support staff.  I have been particularly impressed with our 7 new reception children, they have made an excellent start to their school life.

Class Newsletters are available on the ‘Classrooms’ area of our school website.  These will give you a helpful overview of what your child will be learning in school and ways in which you can support us at home.  Teachers will continue to share photos and updates via Class Dojo and the school website so please check regularly.   A quick reminder that the easiest way to get a message to a class teacher is via admin@bicton.shropshire.sch.uk.  Class teachers do not monitor messages on Class Dojo.

Have a lovely weekend,

Mrs Mavin

House and Sports Captains

We are delighted to introduced our new House Captains for 2024-2025.  We have also appointed a Sports Captain to lead our younger children in sports activities.  We know they will all do a fantastic job of leading their house teams, encouraging others to show our school values and being great ambassadors for our school.

Lunch timings

We have slightly adjusted the length of the lunch break in Key Stage 2 from 60 minutes to 45.  The children have coped brilliantly with the change and are enjoying not having to wait for their hot lunch!  This change in length of break is in line with other local primary schools and we are continuing to carefully monitor how the children are coping.

Values Award Winners

Congratulations to our first award winners of this school year!

Reid showed our value of love through the way he treats his friends.

Joshua showed our school value of ‘respect’ for always being polite to his peers.

Mya showed our value of ‘joy’ for coming into school every morning with a big smile on her face!

Lucas showed our value of ‘perseverance’  through getting involved in every bit of learning.
