Head of School Message

School is beginning to feel very Christmassy with classrooms decorated, the corridor filled with Nativity costumes and Christmas carols being sung at all hours! We are looking forward to welcoming parents/carers to Bicton Church on Tuesday at 9.30am for the R-Y2 performance.   KS2 children will have a sneak preview at the dress rehearsal on Monday morning so siblings will be able to watch each other.

We also have our school choir 2024 debut performance on Thursday evening at 6pm at the Phoenix Singers evening at Bicton Church.  Please see the previous newsletter for how to get tickets, or email the office if you are unable to purchase the tickets but would still like to attend.  Reverend Hannah is keen for lots of the community to get involved and enjoy the evening.

We are looking forward to our trip to see Sleeping Beauty at Theatre Severn on Wednesday.  The children will be eating lunch in school as normal and then travelling to the theatre on the coach.  We are due to return to school by 5pm where pick up will be from outside the classrooms as normal. Please park considerately as there will be 3 large coaches that need to come into the carpark.  Any updates on timings will be posted on Class Dojo and the school website by the office.

The Christmas shop will be open next Tuesday to Thursday.
The children will be able to purchase Christmas presents at break and lunch times.
Presents are ranging from £2.00 to £3.00.

Have a lovely weekend,

Mrs Mavin

A visit from Sammy Sweetcorn

This afternoon the children received a visit from Sammy Sweetcorn, who came to announce the winners from the Dia de los muertos colouring competition.
A huge well done to Linda and Marie, who both won with their very creative designs!

Montford church

Some of the worship committee went to visit Montford church on Friday morning, to explore the churchyard, help complete the diorama of the nativity and to play some carols on the handbells. They really enjoyed themselves and enjoyed a time of reflection and thanks for all the things they are grateful for during Christmas time.

Head of School Message

We have had a lovely week and rehearsals for the Nativity and KS2 Christmas Carol Concert are in full swing!  We would very much appreciate your support in helping your child to memorise any lines they have and practise singing the songs.  We hope to see lots of you there on Tuesday 10th December at 9.30am (R-Y2 Nativity), and Wednesday 18th December at 6.30pm (KS2 Carol Concert), both at Bicton Church.

We have a number of choir and Handbell events coming up in the next three weeks so if you have been sent a permission form, please complete and return as quickly as possible.

Term dates for 2025-2026 have been released BICTON CE PRIMARY SCHOOL Term Dates 2025-26 so please take note of these when planning ahead for next year.
