Class 4 Homework

Dear Parents/Carers

I have given the children Chapter 3 of ‘Stig of the Dump’ to read for homework. They should all have brought home a copy tonight which I would like them to try and read before the English lesson tomorrow. They can either read it by themselves or have it read to them. We will be focusing on the differences between Stig and Barney and how they work together. What can they do? What are they good at? I am not looking for anything in writing for this weeks homework.

Thank you for your support.

Mrs Chadwick

Holiday Homework Thank You!

I just wanted to say a big thank you for the support you gave your children to complete their holiday booklets. They were lovely to read and I feel like I know the children better already. Well done to the children for such hard work!

Homework will be filed in each child’s individual homework folder which will be kept in their tray for the year. We ask for these not to go home but you are more than welcome to pop in and see them at the end of a school day if you wish.

Weekly News 11th September 2015

Welcome Back

The children seem to have settled back into school life easily and were all very keen to share their summer holiday news yesterday.  We have been very impressed with how our new Reception children have settled in so well and seem to be getting used to daily routines quickly.  Welcome also to Luca and Addison in Classes 1 and 3.

School Dinners

Please remember that your child is entitled to a free school lunch if they are in Reception, Year 1 or Year 2, as part of the government’s Universal Infant Free School Meal scheme.

If you are in receipt of certain benefits, it is important that you still apply for free school meals as this may entitle school to receive Pupil Premium funding which can be used to support your child.  Application forms are available at the school office.

Flu Vaccinations

Year 1 and Year 2 children will be bringing home a flu vaccination letter and consent form today; please can the consent forms be returned to the school office as soon as possible. If you have any queries regarding the vaccination, please see the information on the small noticeboard at the front of the school or speak to Helen or Lisa at the school office who will try to answer any queries.

After-School Clubs

We are currently in the process of arranging after-school clubs for next week onwards and the website will be updated as soon as we have done so.

Many thanks.

Mrs Johnson

First day back to Class 2

The children in Class 2 had a fantastic first day back! Thank you for all of the lovely post cards and holiday scrap books that were returned yesterday, we had a lot of fun reading through each others and explaining all about our holidays.

As our topic is The Great Fire of London this term, we have set up Pudding Lane Bakery as our role play area. We made lots of baked goods out of salt dough yesterday to add to our role play area. We then painted some lovely fire pictures with red, yellow and orange paint.

Well done for a brilliant first day back Class 2!

A great first day back in Class One

Class One have had a brilliant day so far. The children are all getting on really well and are making each other feel very welcome and at home in the classroom. We have shared our holiday news this morning – it sounds like you have all had a very busy summer! The Reception children have started looking at their little bags and books that they could collect things in over the summer – lots of interesting things to see. The Year One children have spent time with Mrs Conde sharing their news too and have all written their first piece of work in their English books. They tried very hard to use their phonic knowledge and all did extremely well! They have all drawn a picture on the ‘Paint’ programme on the laptops too. This afternoon, we are going to get changed for Physical Development and have some fun developing our co-ordination, balance and agility skills.
