At the shops

The children had lots of fun shopping for dinosaur detective equipment this morning.  They each had a bag of money and a shopping list.

It has come to my attention that for orange group, the spellings put on previously were in fact the week before. Apologies for this. The relevant children have all got the correct spellings in their book and have told me those are the ones they’ve been practising but if there are any problems then please just let me know.

Class 3 fractions

Class 3 have been learning about fractions. We recently made some cakes using what we have learned. Each group was given 12 cakes to decorate and had to solve the problem of how to decorate them, e.g. 1/4 of the cakes will have smarties on them. How many will this be?  The children did some fantastic maths and enjoyed eating the delicious cakes afterwards!

Save the Whale!

Class 2 had a fun starter activity in Maths today, we focussed on number bonds and played ‘Save the Whale’ on ICT games. The children thoroughly enjoyed this game and it helps to support all their number bonds to 10. Even the year 2 children can practise at home to help them recall their number bonds a lot quicker.
