All homework is due in on Friday 2nd March.

Just to let you know that we are currently doing work on telling the time in maths, any support and help you can give to the children at home with practising to tell the time is very much appreciated.

Thank you and have a lovely half term.

Chinese New Year

Class 1 enjoyed finding out about Chinese New Year today.

Pancake maths

This week our focus story is ‘The Runaway pancake’.  We have linked our maths work to pancakes.  On Monday we looked at our favourite pancake toppings and made a class pictogragh, we found out the jam was the favourite topping in the Class, and in 2nd equal; lemon juice with sugar and maple syrup.

The children have used the coins to buy pancakes, they had to work out how much they needed to pay using our pennies. We also looked at how the price doubles when the pancakes cost 2p rather than 1p.

Some children investigated how they could share 10 strawberries between 2 pancakes and wrote their own calculations!

Valentine’s Disco – thank you!

Thank you to everyone who came along to the Valentine’s disco and to FOBS and other parents who organised and helped out at the event.  The total amount raised was £290 which is a fantastic effort.

Thank you again.

Lost property

We seem to have a mountain of lost property again including lots of things which do not have names in.  Last week we managed to match up a few items with their rightful owners. If your child has mislaid something, please can you ask them to check the lost property box next week. Thank you.

Bicton sport tops

We are missing quite a few of our blue polyester tops, with BICTON on the back, which KS2 children often wear for sporting events.

Clubs next week

Cross country and Brill club will take place as normal next Friday (last day of half-term) but there will be no craft club on Wednesday. Children may join colouring club on Wednesday instead, if they wish.

Letters out this week
