8 years ago Posted on 16th Feb 2017 by Admin Homework: Junk model musical instrument Over the half term we would like children in Class 1 to make a musical instrument to bring into school on the first week back. We would love to see what they can create using empty cereal boxes/tubes/ food packaging etc. Don’t forget to put photos up on Tapestry of their creating. The children will then get a chance to show the rest of the class their handiwork and the whole class will use them as part of our Mardi Gra celebrations. We are also collecting junk modelling so that the children can do more junk modelling during Child Initiated times. https://www.activityvillage.co.uk/musical-instruments Thank you 🙂 Mrs Bowes

8 years ago Posted on 14th Feb 2017 by Admin Village walk Class 1 have been finding out about what different buildings are used for in the local area. Today we went on a walk to find out more. We saw the church that Harry’s Mum and Dad got married in and where we did our school play. The Village Hall where Maisie and several other children have had their birthday parties. The football field where the children do cross country and the play park – which we enjoyed using 🙂 We talked about all the different things in the village and why they are important. Lots of children thought our school is one of the most important buildings so that children can learn.
8 years ago Posted on 06th Feb 2017 by Admin Special Visitor The children welcomed a special visitor into Class 1 today. Post woman Jen came in to tell them all about her job. The children really enjoyed meeting her and they had plenty of questions to ask.
8 years ago Posted on 03rd Feb 2017 by Admin Maths This week the children have been making up their own number stories about one and two more. Some children even started to think about what would happen if there was one less. The children used small world objects to help tell their story – e.g. There were 4 horses in the school field and one more came. In pairs they worked out the new totals. Some children will have this recorded in their online learning journal – Tapestry. If you see/hear your child using this language at home or in play, please do upload onto their Tapestry area.
