The children have enjoyed the frosty weather this week, with many of our children experiencing snow for the first time! Here’s a snapshot of Willow enjoying the snow in Forest School but head over to Willow classroom on our website to see more.

Shropshire Star Cash for Schools – It’s Back!

Please look out for information about the competition in the Shropshire Star and help us be in with a chance of winning a share of the £12,000!

The great news is that every school has an equal chance of winning. The prizes will be awarded based on the schools that have collected the most tokens per pupil from Reception to Year 6 so, even though we are a smaller school, we have the same chance as larger schools.

The first placed school with the most tokens collected per pupil will scoop a whooping £5,000, followed by £3,000 for second, £2,000 for third and then two £1,000 awards, which will be presented to the fourth and fifth place schools.

Please drop off your tokens at the school office and we thank you in advance!

February Half Term Camp

Hello everyone,

Thank you for welcoming Miss Nagington to our school. Mrs Erasmus will be finishing next Friday, slightly earlier than she orginally planned, and we hope she manages to get a few weeks’ rest before her baby arrives!

Special Menu – Thursday 19th January

Next Thursday, the kitchen are serving a special menu, as shown below. Every child who has a school meal that day will be entered into a draw to win a £10 gift voucher for The Works.

• Chicken nuggets and chips
• Sausage and chips
• Vegetarian pizza
• (all served with a choice of baked beans or sweetcorn)
• Choice of desserts

It seems an age ago now but I hope you had a good Christmas and New Year!

The children seemed to settle back into school well last week.  In our Friday afternoon assembly, they were very keen to share what they had achieved or were proud of last week in school!

Welcome to Miss Nagington – Birch Class

We welcome our new teacher Miss Nagington who will be teaching Birch class while Mrs Erasmus is on maternity leave. 

Uniform and PE kit reminder

Please make sure your child arrives at school wearing the correct clothing and footwear. We are seeing an increasing number of children not wearing appropriate clothing for PE.  Moving forward, if children arrive at school not wearing the correct PE kit, they will be given clothing from school to wear for the remainder of the day.

Second-hand uniform / clothing

We have a range of good-quality second-hand uniform and clothing in school, including footwear, which has been donated to school. If your child needs any items of clothing/footwear, please look out for a link to an online form in my next newsletter.  The online form is completely confidential and will allow you to indicate any items your child needs. The responses will only be seen by myself and the school administrators and we will then contact you if we have the items in school that you require. 

We are also taking part in a School Shop Direct second-hand uniform initiative which aims to raise funds for Hope House. Please click here for more information.

Please remember to top up your child’s catering purse on sQuid, to avoid our administrators having to phone you at the start of the school day. Thank you.
