Head of School Message

Dear Parents and Carers,

It has been a very busy and exciting week in school!

Our Year 4 pupils had a fantastic time on their residential trip to Liverpool. They gained so much from the experience and represented the school brilliantly—we are very proud of them. Please do take some time to enjoy looking through the photos and seeing what they got up to.

In school, Year 1 completed their Phonics Screening Check and Year 4 took their Multiplication Tables Check. We are incredibly proud of all the children for their hard work, resilience and positive attitude during these important assessments.

A real highlight this week was our Languages Day, organised by Mrs Erasmus. It was a huge success and a wonderful experience for the children. Thank you so much to all the parents and volunteers who supported the day—it made a big difference and is hugely appreciated.  The children learnt a huge range of familiar phrases in 8 different languages! We are very proud of the diversity we have here at Bicton.

As we move into the final few weeks of term, we would really appreciate your support in reminding children about the importance of maintaining good behaviour and staying focused on their learning. This is always a busy time of year, and it’s important that standards remain high so that everyone can finish the year positively.

Finally, a gentle reminder that if you have any questions, concerns or queries, your child’s class teacher is always the best first point of contact, as they know your child and their needs most closely.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support.

Best wishes,

Mrs Mavin

Design & Technology In Willow Class

Willow class have has a fantastic time in Design & Technology over the past few weeks, creating their very own moving monster toys. The children explored how linkages and levers work, then used these mechanisms to bring their monsters to life.
