Weekly News 25.05.18

Thank You

On behalf of all the staff, we would like to say a big well done and thank you to all the children for their hard work this half term.  It has been a very busy few weeks and we hope they enjoy their well-deserved break!

Sickness Absence

Please remember to contact school by 9:30 am if your child will not be in school due to sickness.  It is essential that we are informed for safeguarding reasons.  If the school office do not hear from parents/guardians by lunchtime, the absence will be unauthorised and the Local Authority may be contacted if we have concerns.

Swimming

Just a reminder that swimming sessions will start for Years 3 and 6 on Thursday 7th June.  Please note, children taking part in the Concord College event on June 21st will still be going swimming that afternoon.)

Arthog Consent Forms

Thank you if you have already returned the parental consent form for our visit to Arthog. Please can any remaining forms be returned by Friday 8th June at the very latest.

Next Gardening Day

Our next gardening day will take place on Saturday 16th June and refreshments will be served during the day, if you can spare a coupe of hours to help.

We hope you have a lovely half-term holiday and we look forward to seeing all the children when we return on Monday 4th June

Rounders Success

Well done to the Year 5 and 6 rounders team today who won the tournament at The Corbet School on Tuesday morning against other local primary schools.  Their sportmanship and team effort was an absolute pleasure to observe and, as always, they were excellent ambassadors for our school.

Red, white and blue day

Well done to all the children for coming to school wearing a combination of red, white and blue – they all looked fantastic!

Year 6 transport letters

Just a reminder that the transport forms need to be returned to the school office by next Friday please.

We have our next gardening day coming up on Saturday 16th June, if you can spare an hour or two to come along and help.

In Memory Of Jenna

We had some very sad news yesterday when we heard that one of our former pupils, Jenna Byrne, passed away earlier this week. Many of us at Bicton still remember Jenna’s bubbly personality and her lovely smile. We all send our love and thoughts to her parents, Cara and Mark, and their family at this very sad time.
