Sports Day

It is currently forecasting very hot weather for Sports Day on Tuesday so children will need sun-cream applied before coming to school. They will also need to bring a drinks bottle and a sun hat. The kitchen will provide a picnic lunch which will consist of pizza or hotdog, chips or pasta and a cookie or a muffin as well as a bottle of water.  The events for Classes 3, 4 and 5 will begin at 9.30am and we are aiming to finish by 12.00 p.m. Please feel free to bring a picnic lunch to share with your child, if you are staying for the afternoon events (for Classes 1 and 2) or just for lunchtime.  At the end of the day, please collect your child from the classroom at 3.15 p.m. as normal.

Please could you let the office know on Monday if you have a gazebo which we are able to borrow for Sports Day.  Many thanks.

Videos: Bicton Choir at Concord College Choir Competition

Our choir did an amazing job at entertaining the audience at Concord College yesterday.

Every school were given the song ‘Happy’ by Pharrell Williams to perform and in addition to that we were allowed to choose an additional song from within the theme of ‘Pop songs’

We chose the pop song ‘Reach’ by S Club 7 which the choir performed extremely well.  We received lots of praise from the judge who loved the happiness of our choir and the high standard of their performance. He said that he had found it very difficult to choose between us and the winning choir (who’s pop song choice was ‘Sing’ from the Military Wives choir at the Commonwealth Games, which sounded fantastic!). Many parents and teachers from the audience commended our choir’s performance at the end which certainly made us all feel like winners!

Here are the videos of our performances

Main gate – vehicular access only

Please can we remind parents and other adults walking children to school/nursery that the main wooden gate should only be used for vehicular access. We ask that pedestrians use the smaller gate at the crossing. This is for everyone’s safety – both pedestrians and drivers – and we thank you in advance for adhering to these safety procedures.
