Quiz Trail Competition Time!

Are you looking for ways to entertain the family over half term? Would you like to be in with a chance of winning a brilliant prize? Would you like to help raise money for school funds? Well, you can do all of this by buying a Quiz Trail sheet for only £5.

The trail will take you on a tour around some of the shops and historical monuments of Shrewsbury, prompting you to answer questions on the way.  The trail is approximately 2 miles long.  Enter as individuals or groups – it’s up to you.  100% of the money raised will go to Bicton Primary School and Nursery.

There are 15 prizes to be won which have kindly been donated by Aislin’s Funhouse, Artcadia, Button and Bear, Cineworld, Climbing the Walls, DM Cycles, Hibiscus, Jump In, Orchard Café, Shrewsbury Town FC, Tanners Wines, and The Lion Hotel. The total value of prizes is approximately £270! 

Quizzes will be for sale in the playground at the end of the school day on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays and also at the Harvest services at Bicton Church on Friday morning.  Don’t miss out!

Autumn term parent meetings

The online booking system for our autumn term parent meetings, on Wednesday 23rd October, will open on the website next week.

Harvest Services

On Friday 18th October, we will be holding two Harvest services at Bicton Church and we hope you will be able to join us.  More information will be sent out next week and, in the meantime, the details are shown below:

9:30 – 10:00 Children in Brooks and Darwin

10:45 – 11:15 Children in Owen and Jebb

Design a Christmas card fundraiser

Children will be bringing home a template today to design a Christmas card. This is part of our annual fundraising activities and, as well as it raising much-needed funds for school, it is a fun and creative activity for the children to do. Please return finished designs to school by Friday 18th October.

WE NEED YOUR HELP!

We will be holding a DIY and gardening day at school, on Saturday 12th October from 10:00 until 4:00. There are lots of jobs that need doing around the site including painting fences, removing a small tree, replacing worn timbers, etc and we need as many pairs of hands as possible. If you are able to spare a few hours, please sign up at the school office and let us know if there are specific jobs you are willing to do.

Refreshments will be provided during the day.

Pantomime – reminder

We have extended the deadline for returning the reply slips and monies for the pantomime until the end of the school day on Monday 30th. We cannot guarantee being able to obtain extra tickets after this date.

Sickness absence

Just another reminder that parents must contact the school office, if your child is absent from school.  If you are unable to get through to the office to speak to someone, please leave a message on the answerphone. Thank you.

FOBS Spooky disco – Halloween costumes on sale

FOBS have several brand-new halloween costumes to sell, in readiness for the spooky disco on Friday 8th November. These are on sale from the school office and are priced at £5 for child costumes and £7.50 for adult costumes.

Class 3 and 4 visit to Shrewsbury

Please can any outstanding permission slips for the visit to Shrewsbury be returned by Tuesday at the latest.
