Saying goodbye to our Year 6s is always a really sad day and this year more than most.  Their video sums up what an amazing year group they have been and we will miss every one of you!

Thank you to Miss Carr and Mr Andrews for all their hard work (and patience!) putting this together. Enjoy! xx

*Weekly news 10.07.2020*

Hi everyone

I hope you’ve all had a good week. It’s been a busy week in school and I’m very glad that it’s Friday at last!

End of year reports

You should have received your child’s end of year report today. The children attending school have been given a paper copy, some have been emailed to you and a few are being hand-delivered by school staff. Please check your junk email, if you haven’t received it today, incase it has dropped into there.  Please click here to access the parent form, to confirm that you have received your child’s report and to make any comments. We thank you in advance for taking the time to do so. Thank you for the messages and ‘thank you comments’ that we have already received today.

Important parent letter

Please see a copy of the letter below which has been sent out today with the reports.  It contains lots of information, so I ask that you read it carefully.

Wanted – empty hand soap / sanitiser bottles

In preparation for September, we could really do with some empty plastic bottles that have had hand soap or hand sanitiser in them which we can refill to use in school. Any size between 250ml and 500ml would be ideal so if you have any suitable bottles in your recycling or which are coming to an end, we’d love to take them off your hands! If you are passing school, please leave the bottles in the plastic box outside the office next week.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend and fingers crossed we might see a bit of sunshine!

Love

Mrs Johnson x

Bicton C.E. Primary and Nursery Sock Olympics 2020!

Are you ready for ‘Sock Olympics?’  Next week we will be challenging all the children and staff to complete 8 challenges using a ball of socks!  All children who are currently not back at school are invited to join in at home and send their class teacher photos / videos of how they get on.  Parents, you are equally welcome to have a go!

Can we ask that the children who are in school come prepared with a spare pair of socks to use please.

We have set 8 challenges for you to complete:

Watch this video to see how each challenge is done.

*Weekly news 03.07.2020*

Hello everyone,

I hope you’ve all had a good week and that you are all keeping safe and well.

Next week, we will be sending out children’s annual end-of-year reports and the class lists for September.

As you may be aware, the government issued updated guidance yesterday (2nd July) to support schools in planning for all children to return to school full-time from September. You can read the guidance for parents and carers here.

We are now working on our plans for welcoming all children back to school from September. As soon as these are in place we will be writing to you, to let you know the new arrangements, and we thank you in advance for your support, patience and understanding.

*Weekly News 26.06.20*

Hello everyone,

I hope you’ve had a lovely week and coped with the temperatures!  It has been very hot in school to say the least but we’ve made the most of the sunshine and have been outdoors as much as possible.

Key worker and other children currently attending school/nursery

Just a couple of reminders for children currently attending school/nursery:

  • Only one parent or adult should come onto the school site to drop off and collect children.
  • Children need to have sun cream applied before arriving or they need to be able to apply it themselves if they are bringing it to school. Staff cannot provide or apply sun cream at this time due to the measures in place.

And finally…

Early on in lockdown, Sophie in Class 5 took part in the 2.6k charity challenge.  This week she received  her certificate from the cystic fibrosis charity who she raised the money for. Well done Sophie!

Hope you have a good weekend.
