Kingswood: Nightwalk

After each group had finished their first activity (aeroball, giant zipwire or nightline) we all went for a walk into the woods above Colomendy. The instructors showed us how to make nettle leaves safe to eat – you can tell what some children thought about this by the expression on their faces!

Kingswood: Mrs Barker’s group – giant zipwire

Straight after tea on Friday evening, Mrs Barker’s group were faced with the giant zipwire – not for the faint-hearted but great fun including for Mrs Johnson’s group who were below the zipwire when the other group flew past!

Kingswood: Friday afternoon

A few photos showing how some of the children entertained themselves when we arrived at Colomendy – others were off exploring!

Class 5 PE Kit

Please can all children in Class 5 bring PE kit to school today, as we have tennis coaching this morning.
Thank you.

Kingswood

Class 5 have had a great weekend at Kingswood Colomendy with fantastic weather! The adults have had to cope without a phone signal all weekend so we will get the photos uploaded as soon as possible!

Kingswood Return Time Changed

Having spoken to Kingswood this morning, we are now able to have lunch before we leave on Sunday so the coach should arrive back at Bicton at 2:30 p.m.

The signal is apparently quite ‘bad’ at Kingswood but we will do our best to upload photos to the website!

We have received a further email following the information sent out last week.  If your child is interested in attending the trials, they have asked that you contact them so that they can guage numbers.

Shropshire Warriors Basketball Trials

Shropshire Warriors Basketball Club is the only National League club in the county. We are holding trials for our Under 12, 13 and 14 National League teams on Sunday 15th June between 10.00-12.00pm. The trials (for pupils who are currently in years 5, 6, 7 and 8) take place at Telford College of Art & Technology, Haybridge Road, Wellington, Telford TF1 2NP.

We are specifically looking for players with one or more of the following characteristics:

  1. 1.   Willingness to compete
  2. 2.   Willingness to learn
  3. 3.   A degree of game sense (not necessarily in basketball)
  4. 4.   Athletic in nature particularly quickness
  5. 5.   Tall

If you are in doubt, please advise the pupil to attend.

Ability to play basketball is not a necessary prerequisite: we can teach basketball!

For the trial, players would need to wear indoor sports clothes, clean indoor trainers and bring plenty to drink.

There will be a cost of £2 per player to cover facility hire.

If you have any questions or are interested but unable to make this date please contact me via email (shropshirewarriors@gmail.com) or via phone on 07841 568726.

Class 5 Half-Term Homework

DESIGN & TECHNOLOGY HALF-TERM HOMEWORK

To be brought into School for Monday 2nd June

smoothie

Your task for half-term is to design the label for your healthy drink and find a suitable bottle in which to present it. You can use ICT or hand-draw the label and you should think about the following:

• needs to be bold and eye-catching

• name of the drink needs to stand out/be clear

• ingredients need to be listed

• health benefits of the ingredients mentioned e.g. contains natural sugars or no artificial colours

• label needs to be the right size for your bottle

You do not have to print it off at home – you can bring it in to school on a memory stick or email it to me and I will print it, if you wish.

If you have any questions, email me on my normal email address – please don’t forget to do your homework, as I’m really looking forward to seeing your design!
