Year 6 Leavers Assembly 2014

Year 6 Leavers’ Party

We had a fantastic time this afternoon at AMF bowling, before dining out at Pizza Hut. The children were very excited when their limousines arrived to whisk them off around Shrewsbury berore returning to School.  We have a feeling the driver of the girls’ limo may have needed a lie down in a very dark room after being subjected to their screams for the best part of an hour!

Once the Year 6s arrived back at School, even more excitement awaited when they found their leavers hoodies waiting for them. A certain young man was so excited that he threw his hoodie into the air in delight, whilst running up the corridor, and it had to be retrieved from the ceiling – spot the photo!

Thank you Year 6s for such a wonderful afternoon and to parents for letting us enjoy the children’s company for one last time!

Class 5 Celebration Assembly

Spanish Taster

Last Friday afternoon, Class 5 were lucky enough to receive a taster Spanish lesson with Jesús teaching the class.  He taught the other children a range of everyday vocabulary and even tested them at the end of the lesson – well done Jesús!

Connecting Shropshire

On Wednesday, representatives from Connecting Shropshire and BT visited School to present prizes for a poster competition.  Paige’s poster was selected as the winning design and she was very proud to see a sticker of her design unveiled on the fibre broadband cabinet on Holyhead Road. Paige and the runners up, Katy, Kate and Imy, also received gifts from Connecting Shropshire for their efforts.

Kingswood: Mrs Johnson’s group – climbing and abseiling

Apologies for not uploading these last few photos sooner but definitely worth the wait!

Brass Extravaganza

Well done to the Year 5 and 6 children who took part in this year’s Brass Extravaganza at Theatre Severn.

Judging by the amount of foot-tapping, they seemed to really enjoy both performing and listening to the other bands play!

Unfortunately the Music Service failed to tell us beforehand that photography was not allowed this year so we only have a couple of photos which were taken during rehearsals.

Thank you to everyone who came to watch – we hope you enjoyed the performance as much as we did!

Kingswood: Mrs Johnson’s group – problem solving

As if the challenges weren’t hard enough already, somebody had their wellies on the wrong feet!

Kingswood: Mrs Johnson’s group – kayaking

With the sun shining gloriously after we’d eaten lunch, there was no need for waterproofs out on the pool.  For most of the group, the only thing on their mind was how soon could they capsize and not surprisingly it wasn’t long before we had the first rescue on our hands!
