Second Day at Arthog part 1 – Wet!

Mr Harris’s group enjoyed a brisk walk up an icy gorge this morning.  Despite the cold, the children were undefeated and revelled in a final drenching on the infamous rock slide.  More adventures are planned for this afternoon.

First Day at Arthog – Everyone Having Fun!

Despite one camera failure, we were able to capture some lovely photos of the Year 6 children enjoying their first day at Arthog 2026.  Everyone had a great first day, ate well, and went to bed early in incredibly tidy dorms (one of those is a teeny weeny fib).

Visit from Dr Simon Nightingale

Yesterday afternoon Oak class welcomed Dr Simon Nightingale, a member of the Humanist Society, to Bicton. He very kindly came to talk to us about Humanism, to support our RE question- What matters most to Humanists and Christians?
He explained how Humanists know about the world and how they know what is right and wrong.
The children then had the opportunity to ask him questions to deepen their understanding of Humanism.

Oak class participated in the whole school skipping workshop where we were taught skipping techniques and rhymes.
It took a lot of perseverance to complete a long rope rhyme but it was great fun!
Hopefully the children will enjoy putting their new skipping skills into practice on the playground.
