In History, we have started learning about the Great Fire of London. We began by comparing life in 1666 with life today. We investigated how houses were different and discussed how many of the everyday items we use would not have existed during the Tudor period. To help us gain an impression of the busy London streets of 1666, we have started creating our own miniature Lego streets. This has helped us understand how closely packed the houses were and why the fire spread so quickly from one building to another.

In DT, we have been given a design brief to create a chair for Baby Bear. We started by investigating stability. We created different shapes and measured how steeply we could tilt a piece of paper before each shape started to topple. We found that shapes with a large, flat surface area were the most stable. We will use this knowledge to help us design and build a strong chair for Baby Bear.
