Staff News

Ms Arblaster

Ms Arblaster has sadly taken the decision to leave Bicton School due to ill health.  Ms Arblaster was hugely popular amongst children and staff and we would like to thank her for the care and dedication she showed during her time with us.  She would like to wish all the children and parents well and thank you for your support during the last few years – she will miss you all very much. I’m sure you will join us in wishing her the very best as she moves to Staffordshire to be nearer her grandson, Freddie.

Mrs Benyon

Mrs Benyon is currently absent from school but is expected to return before the half term.  Mrs Rebecca Hilton is covering Birch Class in her absence on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Harvest Donations

As part of our Harvest Celebrations, we will be taking a donation to the Shrewsbury Food Bank after the Harvest Service on Friday 11th October. If you are able to give a donation, please leave it at the table set up outside the main office before Friday 11th.

We welcome donations of any non-perishable items but the Food Bank is in particular need of soup, microwave rice, jam/spread, tinned main meals, laundry tablets, UHT milk

Shrewsbury Food Bank organises and distributes parcels of donated food, toiletries, cleaning products and household items to individuals and families every week.

They seek to help those that find themselves in times of real hardship by addressing their most basic of needs – food and household items.

Food banks are an essential service in communities across the country and in the last few years they have helped thousands of people in need. Through foodbank PLUS, Shrewsbury Food Bank is now able to help people beyond the short term fix and empower them to face a more positive future.

Choral Day

Some of our Year 6 pupils took part in a choral day at Shrewsbury High School as part of their outreach programme.  They had a wonderful day culminating in a 300 pupil performance for parents and carers.

Communication Reminder

A quick reminder that if you need to get a message to your child’s class teacher, the quickest method is via email to admin@bicton.shropshire.sch.uk.  Class Dojo messages are no longer monitored and so messages may be missed.

Year 4 Residential!

We are very excited to be offering our Year 4 pupils a residential trip this year to the wonderful city of Liverpool.  This will be a joint residential trip with Bomere Heath Primary School and St John’s in Ruyton.

To find out some more information, please come along on Friday 18th October at 2.30pm where you will be given details of the trip.

European Languages Day

In Thursday’s Kidslingo French Club with Marie, the children this week were celebrating European Languages Day. The children had to complete activities to collect points and a certificate.  Well done Freda, Isaac, Liza, Ivy and Rosalie!
