Updated – A Service of Commemoration for Her Majesty The Queen, 6pm, Sunday 18th

Dear Friends,

On Sunday there will sadly now be NO service at Albrighton at 6pm, so those from that community are encouraged to go along to Leaton. Some of you will know already, but there is also a joint service on Sunday morning in Bomere Heath, at the Methodist Chapel.
This means that our final list is as below:

Uniform Expectations

Her Majesty The Queen 21 April 1926 to 8 September 2022

It is with great sadness that we hear of the death of Her Majesty the Queen.

We join with people from across the world in sending our condolences and deepest sympathy to the Royal Family at this very sad time.

In school this morning, we held a special worship to allow children and staff to share some of their memories of Her Majesty. We joined in prayer to pray for her family and express our thanks for everything she gave to our nation, before observing two minutes silence.

End-of-year reports

Thank you for the comments received so far about children’s end-of-year reports.

I know some parents are not receiving Class Dojo messages from myself or the school office so please see a copy of yesterday’s newsletter below which includes the link to the online form.

Celebration Assembly Thank You

Thank you to everyone who joined us this morning for our end-of-year Celebration Assembly. Having families join us again in school, for our first summer assembly in three years, was just the perfect end to our school year. It was wonderful to be able to share the children’s achievements and hard work with you, and we are so proud of each and every one of them. They truly are amazing!

Sports Day Thank You

Thank you to everyone who was able to join us for this year’s Sports Day and what an amazing day we had! We saw our school values demonstrated in abundance and, without a doubt, this is the best teamwork and sportsmanship I have ever seen at a Bicton Sports Day. We are so proud of all our pupils!

Also, well done to all the adults who took part in the races which were possibly the most competitive I have witnessed at Bicton! 🙂

Thank you to our amazing FOBS ladies who kept us fuelled throughout the day and raised well over £300!

Tower of London and Superbloom visit

As you may have seen on Classs Dojo, we had an amazing day in London visiting the Superbloom and the Tower of London. It was an early start and a very long day but gosh was it worth it! Almost everyone opted to use the slide into the moat and the Superbloom installation did not disappoint. Many children commented on how they would love to grow something similar at home!

Whilst we were sitting on Thames Wharf eating our lunch, we even saw Tower Bridge being raised and I think the children would have quite happily sat there all afternoon just taking in the sights of the London skyline and watching the world go by. Thank you to all the staff for making it such a memorable experience and to the Year 5/6s for being so well behaved during the visit – we are all very proud of you!
