14.10.22 Weekly Newsletter

Hello everyone,

We had a short rehearsal in church this morning for our Harvest services next week. It was so lovely to be in church again as a whole school and we look forward to familes and friends joining us next Friday morning.

Brookes and Darwin: 9:15 – 9:45

Owen and Jebb: 10:15 – 10:45

If your child is new to the school, and they have not been told which house they are in, please contact either your child’s teacher or the school office next week. All children should wear school uniform please; Birch and Oak will need to bring their PE kit to change into for their Friday afternoon PE session.

If you are able to donate any produce, packets or tins of foods, toiletries, etc. we would be very grateful and all donations will be taken to the Shrewsbury Food Bank.  Children will be taking their donations to the service so these can be brought into school next Friday morning or they can be left on the table at the main office any day next week.  Please click here for items that are in demand and here for items that the Food Bank regularly need.

Thank you in advance for your support.

Symphonic Sundays at Shrewsbury School

Symphonic Sundays

We are keen to encourage more musicians from partner schools / Maintained sector local schools to join the following musical groups-  ‘Sinfonia’ (for close to absolute beginners) and Symphonic Sundays (for those young musicians with grade 3 or above). It is free and the emphasis is on enjoying making music together. The groups are open to you musicians from primary school through to year 9 at secondary schools.

Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

Harvest Services – Friday 21st October

We are our holding our Harvest services for pupils and families at Holy Trinity Church, Bicton on the morning of Friday 21st October.  Children will be going to church in their ‘houses’ and there will be two services with each service involving two houses – Brookes with Darwin, and Owen with Jebb.

Brookes and Darwin: 9:15 – 9:45

Owen and Jebb: 10:15 – 10:45

If your child is new to the school, they will be given a letter tomorrow informing you of which house they are in.  Siblings are in the same house so, if you already have children in the school, any new entrants will be in the same house.
