Well done!

I just want to say a very big ‘well done’ to all the children who attended Stottesdon. You were all so well behaved and got stuck in with all the activities, with some of you facing and overcoming your fears. I am very proud of you all and it was a pleasure to take you away.

A big ‘thank you’ as well to all the staff who attended and helped to make it an enjoyable experience for the children.

Class 2 – Year 2 Holiday Homework

In the excitement of finishing for Easter, I forgot to hand out holiday homework! Apologies. I have copied and pasted it below and will ask Miss Edwards to hand out the paper copies on the first Monday back. Hope you all have a lovely Easter break.

CLASS 2 HOLIDAY HOMEWORK (Year 2’s)

We have been doing lots of work in class on character descriptions. We have looked at a characters appearance, personality and likes and dislikes.

I would like the children to read as many Horrid Henry stories as they can and then use the information they have learnt to write a character description of him under the sub-headings appearance, personality and likes and dislikes.

They can include illustrations and present the character description as a booklet, poster or piece of writing. Please let me know if you need any resources such as paper etc.

Miss Moran would also like the children to carry out some research about nocturnal animals (foxes, bats, badgers and owls). It is up to the children how they choose to present the information (poster, leaflet, report)

The homework will be due in on the first Friday back after the Easter holidays (Friday 2nd May.)

There will be no spellings to learn over the Easter holidays. New spellings will be given on the first Friday back after Easter.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask.

Year 6 SATs revision

I have given you a range of revision activities for the Easter holidays. It is up to you how much you complete but obviously the more you attempt the more there is for me to look through with you when you return to School.

If you need adult help for any of the questions, please make a note by the question so that I know what we need to look at again after Easter.

If you want to contact me for any reason, feel free to email me with any questions or queries and I will get back to you as quickly as possible.

Have a good Easter holiday!

Year 5 Easter homework

Year 5 Literacy/Geography Homework

To be given in on Monday 28th April 2014

Imagine you have been on holiday to Brazil.  Use what you have learnt this term to write a postcard to Class 5, describing your visit e.g. where did you stay, what was the weather like, where did you visit, what did you see, etc. I’ve included some key vocabulary to help you in the word bank below but I want you to use your own interesting vocabulary to make Class 5 believe that you had the best holiday ever! You can also draw/design an image on the reverse of the postcard to show the location(s) you visited.

If you need help or are stuck for ideas, email me on the details I gave you and I will reply straightaway. I’m really looking forward to reading everyone’s postcards which will make a fantastic display!

Photo Club country excursion

Ernie and Ella came to the last Photoclub of this term.  They chose their activity for our last week and we went off premises to get landscape and country photos.  We walked a similar route to the Cross Country Club taking in the woods, fields and farm animals including baby goats and Mrs Ross’ horses.  The sun shone and we all had a great time.  Have a great Easter!
