Testing Drinks

Class 5 have been putting their taste buds to good use this morning, in preparation for designing and making their own healthy drinks in design and technology.  Some drinks were less well-received than others but, when it comes to knowing their blueberries from their cranberries, I seem to have a very knowledgeable class! Later this week we will investigate different fruits and food products for using in healthy drinks.

There are a couple of ‘classic’ photos below…!

Jigsaws!

An early morning reminder for children in class 2 to bring in their jigsaws for maths this morning.

Many thanks

Class 5 News

Thank you for all your contributions to yesterday’s party. Hopefully your child’s energy levels, from rather a lot of sugar, were starting to fall by the time they arrived home!

As your child may have told you last night, Oliver has been absent for most of this week after quite a nasty accident on his trampoline on Tuesday evening. We are looking forward to seeing him back in school next week and I know Class 5 are all keen to look out for him and help him in any way they can.

Many thanks.

Monies in envelopes

Please could we remind you to send in any dinner, trip or swimming money in an envelope marked clearly with the child’s name and class. Dinner money can be paid by cheque made payable to Shrophire Council with the child’s name written on the reverse.

Picking up times

The Office is staffed until 4:30 p.m. but in the past couple of weeks some children have not been collected until almost 5:00 from clubs that finished at 4:30. Please could we ask that children are collected promptly, at the end of after-school clubs. If you are going to be late, please phone school to let staff know.

Medical Forms

We have now uploaded the medicine form to the website for you to download, print off and complete.  Please ensure that the form is signed before sending it in with your child and also that the dosage and length of time for which the medicine/prescription needs administering are made clear.

Should you have any queries, please do not hesitate to speak to Mrs Neal or Mrs Jones at the Office.

Football Clubs

Football Club for Years 3-6 has now finished for the summer and will be replaced with rounders club which will start next Wednesday 21st May.

Football Club for Reception to Year 2 finishes on Tuesday 20th May and will restart in the autumn term.

Many thanks.

Just a reminder that children should have their own named water bottle in school please, particularly now that the weather is getting warmer.  Also, sun hats for playtimes from now on if possible please.

Many thanks,

Strange goings on….

There have been some very strange goings on in our forest school area lately. Class 4 have been investigating what it is and found some very odd objects and what appeared to be some sort of slime! Feel free to ask someone in Class 4 what their theory is!

Class 5 SATs Party

As in previous years, I would like to do a party on Friday afternoon (in school time) to reward Year 6s for their hard work this week and also to say thank you to Year 5s for ‘coping’ with the changes to the timetable.  I would be really grateful if Class 5 children could bring in something to eat or drink e.g. cakes, biscuits, crisps (I know these don’t sound very healthy but it’s what the children deserve this week!)

They may also bring in casual clothes to change into for the afternoon, if they wish.

Thank you for your support this week and in the past few months in the build up to SATs.  It really has made a difference and I know your child/children have benefited from it.

Mrs Natalie Johnson

No Drama Club this Week

Just a reminder (the children were informed last week), there will be no drama club tomorrow.

Thank you.
