Grand total!

We raised a staggering £410 last Friday from wearing non-uniform and from the sale of cakes.  This has far exceeded our expectations and is a fantastic start to our defibrillator fundraising.  We will be sending a cheque for £205 to the British Heart Foundation this week as half of the money raised.

Thanks again to everyone.

Fabulous Cakes!

As promised, here’s a slice (sorry couldn’t resist it!) of just how amazing the creations were last Friday.

Class winners of the baking competition

Huge congratulations to the class winners of Friday’s baking competition.  Miss Moran kindly agreed to hold the cake for the child who won in Class 3! Teachers and teaching assistants chose a winner from each class but we gave the almost impossible task of choosing an overall winner to our school cook Sue who chose Ella’s cake. Ella will will be presented with her engraved cup before we break up on Friday.

baking compeition winners

Very well done to everyone who took part, either baking or buying cakes on the day, for helping to raise such a fantastic amount.

Weekly News 6th February

THANK YOU…

We would like to say a huge thank you to the trouble that everyone went to today for the Wear Red Day and baking competition.  Mrs Lawless, our school cook, kindly offered to select an overall winner and chose Ella’s cake (Class 5) which summed up the whole day.  Very well done to all the children (and adults!) who took part.  We took lots of photos and will get these on the website over the weekend.  By lunchtime today, we had already raised over £330 which is a phenomenal amount – well done everyone!

Calendars

We still have some calendars left which we are now selling at the school office for £4.50 each.

Stottesdon

Please could any outstanding medical forms for the forthcoming Stottesdon visit be returned by next Tuesday.

Parents’ Evenings

The booking system for parents’ evening (s) will be available on the website from Monday 23rd February.

Disco – No Cross Country

Remember that FOBs are selling tickets at the school office for next Friday’s Valentines disco.  There will be no cross country club next week.

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend.

Mrs Johnson

Fun in the woods

Class 1 have had lots of fun in the woods this afternoon.  Their first task was to stand as quietly as they could and hear what sounds there were in the woods. They could hear  many different sounds including birds, cars, a helicopter and church bells.

SANY2604

Their second task was to work in pairs to go on a scavenger hunt.  They were asked to find: 3 seeds, something smooth, something rough, a feather, something beautiful and a stick as long as their arm.

Weekly News 30th January

British Heart Foundation/Defibrillator fundraiser

We are looking forward to seeing children’s cakes and baking entries for next Friday’s competition. All of the cakes will be on sale at morning break and at the end of the day if there are any left to sell!  Donations of £1 per child for wearing red would also be appreciated.

Parking

Please could we remind adults not to double park in the school car park or park on the grass verges/bus lane, as this can affect the safety of children and other adults.  If the school car park is full, please try to use the car park at the village hall.

Uniform

We have had positive feedback from parents about the new uniform supplier The School Shop.  Please can you make sure that your child’s name is in their sweatshirt/cardigan at least but preferably in all of their school uniform to ensure that children do not take home another child’s clothing by mistake.

Have a nice weekend.

Letters home this week:

Stottesdon medical form (Year 3/4) – please return by Tuesday 3rd

Wear Red/Baking competition letter – all children

Class 4 Homework

Dear Parents/Carers,

Please be aware that your child should’ve come home with a piece of literacy and maths homework today. The literacy is linked to spellings this week and the maths is linked to measurement. Please let me know if your child has not got one.

Thank you.
