THANK YOU!!

We would just like to say a massive thank you to all children and parents who made, bought and donated cakes and biscuits to our sale today.

Thank you also to the co-op who donated boxes of buns for us to sell.

In addition to this, many children brought money to spend and Class 4’s cake sale was a roaring success!

We will let you know exactly how much was raised and children in Class 4 will help decide exactly which natural disaster charity we will send the money to.

D & T fruit cocktails

Class 2 would like to say a massive thankyou to the Co op for supplying the fruit for today’s lesson. We had a great afternoon trying lots of different fruit and we were very impressed with the children trying things they had never tried before.

Caring For Each Other

As part of our current whole-school theme of Caring, children from Classes 1 and 2 were asked to choose a book to bring into morning worship to share with children in Classes 3, 4 and 5. Older children then sat with younger children and helped them read their book or read it to them. The children really seemed to enjoy having this opportunity to read together as a whole school and it was lovely to see them all supporting each other.

Sporting Events

Well done to all the children who braved the weather to take part in last week’s cross country event at The Corbet, Tuesday’s Year 5/6 hockey team and especially to the U10s football team who played in freezing conditions on Wednesday evening!

Late Arrival

Please could we remind everyone that school starts at 8:55 a.m. and children must be in school when the register is taken at 9:00.  We have seen a significant increase in recent weeks in the number of children arriving at school after the register has been completed and this affects how children settle in for the school day ahead. Any children arriving late also need to make sure that they tell the Office if they would like a school lunch ordering, as the dinner register may also have been completed.

If children are not in school by 9:00 they will be marked as late and persistent late arrival is likely to result in parents/guardians being contacted by the Local Authority.  Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

FOBs Movie Night

We are looking forward to the movie night arranged by FOBs for next Friday evening.  If you haven’t bought your ticket yet, please speak to the school office on Monday to check if any tickets are still available.

School Uniform

Please could you check that your child’s name is in all items of their school uniform, as we have quite a few unnamed items of clothing in Lost Property outside Class 1. Thank you.

Letters out this week:

Parent governor ballot forms – votes must be in by 3:15 p.m. on Friday 29th.

Have a nice weekend.

Dear Parents/Carers,

On Wednesday 27th January at morning break, Class 4 will be holding a cake sale outside their classroom to raise money for people affected by the recent flooding.

A few of the children in the class had wanted to do something after learning about different natural disasters around the world as part of out topic ‘Extreme Earth’.

The cake sale will be open to all children. Small cakes and biscuits will be 20p. Larger cakes and biscuits will be 50p. Please could children bring in no more than £2.
