Hi everyone,

I hope you have had a good first week of the holidays.  There are a few bits of information and news items below that might be of interest over the summer.

Thank you to whoever bought me the gifts below – please let me know if you recognise the bottles or the bottle bags so that I can thank you personally!

Take care,

News from Severn Loop

Dear Friends,

After a three-year break, we are very pleased that the Severn Loop Coach Trip is revived! We have booked a day out in Worcester on Thursday, 21st September. There will be pick-ups in Bicton and Bomere Heath. The day will include:
  • Time to explore the city
  • A historical tour of the Cathedral, featuring King John, Edward Elgar and ‘Woodbine Willie’
  • Afternoon Tea in the Cloister Cafe (extra xost)
  • Cathedral Evensong
The cost of the day is £25 per person. A number of people have already booked on, but we would love some more of you to come along. Do also pass this information on to friends and family who might be interested.
To book a place, please contact Gillian Steedman (gillian.steedman@gmail.com- copied into this email) as soon as possible. We would like to have a sense of the final numbers by the end of the first week in August.
Having been on the previous two coach trips, I can highly recommend it – there is a lovely balance of time to explore and scheduled activities, and it’s so peaceful to end the day with the soaring beauty of Evensong in a cathedral setting.
I’ve attached a poster below, which has a little more information on.
Our next Forest Church will be on 10th September, at Shrawardine. Do please save the date and check the Loop for details.
As many of you know, I will be on annual leave for most of August and back at church on 27th. I leave you in the capable hands of Fr. Peter and Joyce. Have a lovely summer!
With love and blessings,
Hannah x

News from Nursery

I had the privilege of attending our nursery children’s ‘graduation’ and watching their performance of ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt. I’ll upload some more photos and a short video, once I’ve checked which children are allowed to appear on our website, so keep an eye out next week!

Aologies for not sending this out before we finished, but we would be grateful if you could complete the quick online form below to confirm receipt of your child’s report and share any comments you wish to make.

Thank you in advance for your time.

Bicton’s Got Talent Leavers’ Assembly

Thank you to everyone who joined us at leavers’ assembly to say farewell to our Year 6s. It was a wonderful celebration filled with laughter, smiles, huge applause and, as always, tears! Thank you to Mrs Mavin and Mr Andrews for all their hard work and for giving us such a memorable morning.

The children amazed us with their many talents and it was only fair that the staff got to submit an entry for Bicton’s Got Talent – enjoy! (Make sure you scroll down after the staff video, to view more highlights from the morning.)

Weekly news 22.07.23

Hello everyone,

On behalf of all our staff and governors, thank you for all your support this year.

This time of year is always very sad when we say goodbye to children and staff moving on to new schools, but we feel honoured to have played a part in their school journey and hope that they will take fond memories of Bicton with them as they take their next step.

Thank you for your gifts, cards and kind messages and a big thank you to the Year 6 parents for the beautiful bench on our school field – this will be a lasting legacy to you and your children and will keep you in our hearts for years to come.

This is a bumper newsletter this week with bits of information that might come in useful over the summer.

I wish you all a lovely summer holiday – hopefully we will all see some sunshine! – and I look forward to seeing you on Tuesday 5th September.

Take care and much love,

Mrs Johnson x
