Our ‘Number Hero prizes

You may remember last term that Isaac T, now in Maple class, entered a National Numeracy competition in his own time. He won £1000 worth of maths resources for our school and, now that everything has arrived, we celebrated this in school in last week’s certificate assembly. The children seemed most excited about the Tiny soft toys!

Thank you again Isaac for being our very own Number Hero!

Join us for coffee and cake!

We are really pleased to be able to share our exciting news that we are planning a range of fundraising events this year, to raise money for both our amazing school and MacMillan Cancer Care.
Why MacMillan?
We were approached by Caroline Bailey, from Hunkington House Kitchen, a former governor and Bicton School parent, regarding a joint fundraising campaign.
Caroline is running the London Marathon in April for MacMillan and needs to raise £2,500 so she asked if she could also try and help us raise money for school.
There are lots of exciting things coming up this year and our first event is on Monday 2nd October between 2pm and 3pm.
As a ‘welcome back’ event, and to kickstart the fundraising, we would love parents and grandparents to join us for coffee (or tea!) and cake.
All monies raised will be split equally between MacMillan and Bicton School.
More details will follow next week.

Hi everyone,

We’ve had a lovely week in school, despite the downpours!

Some of you may have spotted Birch class out and about in Bicton this week. They enjoyed a very sunny walk around Bicton, looking for human and physical features as part of their Geography topic. They were very interested to hear what the old Bicton School was like to work in and were amazed to hear we had to move all of the furniture in my classroom  every morning for worship!

We ended the week with our new Year 6 leaders presenting various certificates in our Friday worship. Well done to all of the children who received our first certificates of the year.

Letters home this week

Pantomime letter – all classes

Details of our Harvest Services will follow next week.

I hope you have a lovely weekend.

Hello everyone.

We had an exciting end to the week, in our Friday afternoon assembly, when we announced the new Year 6 leaders for this year: House and Vice Captains, School Council members, Sports Captains, and – a new role – our Worship Committee Leader. Well done to all of the children for the effort they put into their application speeches and for giving up their time to take on these roles – they are going to be very busy this year!

After-school club reminder

Children must be collected promptly at 4:30 pm at the end of after-school clubs (5:30 pm for Film Club.)

Pantomime Visit – Friday 15th December (afternoon)

We have booked our annual visit to see the pantomime at Theatre Severn. This year we are watching an afternoon performance and details will follow next week.

Take care,

Mrs Johnson x
