Medication in School

Please could any inhalers and other medication that your child may need during the school day be brought into school as soon as possible. If your child left their medication in school over the summer holidays, please could you check that this is still in date and if not arrange for a replacement to be brought into school.

All medication will need a new consent form completing including asthma care plans. This paperwork was given to your child on the last day of term.

Thank you in advance for your support.

Weekly News 01.09.17

We hope you have all had a lovely summer holiday and that the children are looking forward to the new term ahead.

Uniform

Please can we ask that you label all items of school uniform, including PE kit, coats/jackets, shoes and PE footwear. This will ensure that any items mislaid are reunited with the correct owner!  Can we remind you that JoJo bows are not permitted and only stud earrings can be worn which must be removed for PE. Thank you in advance for your support with this.

Lunch and Club Money

Please can any monies for lunch//Breakfast club/after-school clubs be in an envelope marked clearly with your child’s name, the amount and what the monies are for. Cheques for lunches should be made payable to Shropshire Council.

Clubs

The after-school clubs have not been updated yet on the website so they may not show when this is emailed out. The clubs will restart when we return to school on Tuesday and, although not every club may run next term, there will be something for all classes every day.

We look forward to seeing all the children on Tuesday 5th September.

Many thanks.

Shrewsbury in Bloom School Grounds Award

I knew I’d forgotten something in Thursday’s assembly! Earlier this week we were visited by 2 judges from the Shrewsbury in Bloom Committee; it was very short notice as they only informed us 30 minutes before their arrival!  They were taken aback with our wonderful wildlife garden, the orchard, the wealth of vegetables being grown and the dipping pond and, as a result, we were awarded second place in the awards.  Thank you to everyone who has contributed to the creation of the garden and us receiving this recognition as a result!

Thank you

On behalf of all the staff, thank you for your cards, gifts, and kind words.  We feel very lucky to have such fantastic parental support and we hope you all have a wonderful summer holiday.

See you all on Tuesday 5th September!

Thank you from Miss Bellis

Miss Bellis here! I would like to say a massive thank you to all of you for such a wonderful time at Bicton School. I have thoroughly enjoyed coming into school everyday. I am so overwhelmed by your kindness and am so grateful for all of the gifts and lovely messages – they really do mean such a lot and I will keep them for a long time. I was so surprised when I opened my card last night to find a cheque inside. Thank you so much to all who contributed. I have been rather unorganised and have absolutely nothing prepared for September so I will put it to very good use! Thank you again.

I would like to wish all the children good luck in their new classes next term. Make sure you all work hard but have lots of fun too! Have a lovely summer holiday! Thank you all! I will miss everyone but will be coming back to visit!

Lots of love, Emily Bellis

The last Forest School session

We had a brilliant last Forest School session on Wednesday. We luckily had another day of lovely weather and we finished with a fire and marshmallow smores! The children had a great understanding of health and safety and really enjoyed themselves.

Citizen Vote

Children in Class 1, had to take part in a vote today.  We had a good discussion about what a good Citizen of Class 1 might be like.

The children took the role very seriously and made sure that their votes were secret.

Tomorrow we will find out out who they have chosen.
