Muller Competition

Shire Services have launched a joint competition with Muller which they would love children to take part in!

With saving the environment at the forefront of everyone’s mind currently, they wanted to find a way to help with this. They have come up with a competition to help make that change.

Muller competition

The yoghurt pots are now one of the only products Shire Services use that can’t be washed and reused, whilst they wait for Muller to develop an alternative product for them (coming Spring 2024!).

They would like children to invent another use for a Muller yoghurt pot once the yoghurt has been eaten.

Please hand your creation into the school office or direct to the school kitchen. Everyone that enters will receive a sticker for taking part, and all entries across Shire Services will be judged, and the winner will receive a gardening set for their class.

The 6 winning entries will then be placed in a hat and one lucky winner will receive an Educational Muller Farm visit for their class.

All entries must be given to the kitchen team by Friday 10th November.

Winners of the gardening kits will be announced w/c 20th November – Muller and Shire Services are available to attend site and present the winner with gardening kit during assembly. The Farm visit winner will be announced w/c 4th December.

Good luck everyone!

Packed Lunches Reminder

We are seeing an increasing number of unhealthy items in children’s lunchboxes. We request that children do not bring sweets or excessive quantities of confectionary / chocolate bars for their lunch. Please be assured that we do not check children’s lunchboxes but we notice what children eat during lunch.

We also ask that children do not bring grab bags of crisps for morning break and try to bring fruit or a healthy snack instead. All children in Early Years and Key Stage 1 are offered a piece of fruit every day and we often have sufficient fruit to offer it to children in Key Stage 2.

We thank you in advance for your support.

Weekly News 13.10.23

Hello everyone,

Thank you for your understanding over the issues with the parent meetings booking system. It is now up and running again and the link is back on the homepage of the website or here.

Absence from school

Please can we remind parents that work will not be set for children who are absent from school due to illness or if they are on holiday. If your child feels well enough to read or practise their times tables or spellings, that will be of benefit to them but there is no expectation for them to do so. Thank you.

Dinner money

Please can you remember to keep your child’s sQuid dinner money account topped up. If it falls below a certain amount, your child cannot order their dinner in class until the school office have contacted you to top up their account. Thank you.

Harvest services

We look forward to you joining us for our Harvest services on Wednesday morning. If you are able to donate an item for our collection for Shrewsbury Food Bank, we would be very grateful. Donations can be brought in before Wednesday and left at the school office or your child can bring it in on Wednesday morning.

Have a good weekend.

Air Ambulance Competition

In 2023, Children’s Air Ambulance celebrates the 10th anniversary of our first ever patient transfer.

Much has changed within our pioneering service in those 10 years, and we’re inviting children and young people to let their imaginations fly and tell us what they think helicopters will look like in the next 10 years. What special features will they have, what will they do, will they be fuelled by rubbish or piloted by remote control? Tell us in words, pictures or both and send it to us.

The competition leaflet can be downloaded from the link https://bit.ly/3RHyWae here or hard copies are available from the school office. There’s an awesome prize up for grabs for the winning entry so don’t delay entering!

News from Severn Loop – October 2023

Dear Friends,

Into October we go! It’s harvest time, and we are reminded of the abundant gifts of the earth for us all to share – gifts which find their beginnings in the heart of God who is love. Do feel most welcome to join us for our Harvest services – you’ll find details in the Loop.
Our next Forest Church is a bit of a departure from the norm. We are going to do festive woodland crafts indoors, at the Mission Church in Bomere Heath. We’ve noticed that numbers are often low in the coldest months and, whilst we steer clear of December and January anyway, it’s good to have a bit of creature comfort for our final one before Christmas. It’s on the 19th November, 3pm. More details nearer the time…
Our next ‘conventional’ Forest Church will be on 25th February, and we have been promised lambing!
The Loop – our monthly newsletter – is attached below.
With love and blessings,
