Weekly News 22.09.23

Hi everyone,

We’ve had a lovely week in school, despite the downpours!

Some of you may have spotted Birch class out and about in Bicton this week. They enjoyed a very sunny walk around Bicton, looking for human and physical features as part of their Geography topic. They were very interested to hear what the old Bicton School was like to work in and were amazed to hear we had to move all of the furniture in my classroom  every morning for worship!

We ended the week with our new Year 6 leaders presenting various certificates in our Friday worship. Well done to all of the children who received our first certificates of the year.

Letters home this week

Pantomime letter – all classes

Details of our Harvest Services will follow next week.

I hope you have a lovely weekend.

Join us for coffee and cake!

We are really pleased to be able to share our exciting news that we are planning a range of fundraising events this year, to raise money for both our amazing school and MacMillan Cancer Care.
Why MacMillan?
We were approached by Caroline Bailey, from Hunkington House Kitchen, a former governor and Bicton School parent, regarding a joint fundraising campaign.
Caroline is running the London Marathon in April for MacMillan and needs to raise £2,500 so she asked if she could also try and help us raise money for school.
There are lots of exciting things coming up this year and our first event is on Monday 2nd October between 2pm and 3pm.
As a ‘welcome back’ event, and to kickstart the fundraising, we would love parents and grandparents to join us for coffee (or tea!) and cake.
All monies raised will be split equally between MacMillan and Bicton School.
More details will follow next week.

Bring your pet to church this Sunday!

11am on 24th September at Bicton Church,
All are welcome at our Pet Service at Bicton Church for a short time of worship and a blessing upon our animals.
Blessings,
