Head of School Message
Dear parents/carers,
What a wonderful week we had in school! Sports Day was a huge success and a big thank you to parents and carers who came along in support and helped to make it a really memorable occasion for the children. It was certainly a closely fought battle for the House Cup but Jebb were victorious in KS1 and Darwin in KS2. Well done to everyone who took part.
As we draw nearer to the end of term we start to look forward to our transition day on Tuesday 8th July where children will be able to spend time in the new classrooms or with their new teachers or classmates. We also have a very exciting Arts Week beginning on Monday 7th July where the children will be engaged in a whole school art project. We are hoping these will be finished and on display by the end of term!
We are delighted to be welcoming local artist Rory McCann into school during Arts Week who will be creating a huge mural in the hall to encapsulate and display our school values and what it means to be a pupil at Bicton school. The children will have opportunity to go and watch Rory at work and ask him questions as he goes – great inspiration for any budding artists!
The weather continues to be very warm this week so please ensure sun cream is applied before school and that hats/water bottles are in school at all times.

Spirituality day
Our Year 6 pupils enjoyed a Spirituality Day at Church led by Reverend Hannah.
This was to help prepare the children emotionally for the next steps in their education and was an opportunity to reflect upon what makes them joyful.
Mental Health and Wellbeing Survey
We are committed to supporting the mental health and wellbeing of all students at Bicton. This short survey will help us understand how well we are currently supporting parents and identify areas for improvement. All responses are anonymous and will be used to guide future planning so please be as honest as possible.
