As we reach the end of another fantastic school year, I would like to take a moment to reflect on all that we have achieved together and to thank everyone who has played a part in making this such a successful year for our school community.
This year has been particularly significant as it marked our first full year as part of the Shropshire Church of England Academies Trust (SCEAT). Being part of the Trust has brought new opportunities, support and collaboration, while allowing us to retain the unique character and values that make our school so special.
One of the highlights of the year was our successful SIAMs inspection, which recognised the hard work, commitment and dedication of our staff, pupils, governors and families. We were delighted that inspector saw so many of the strengths that we are proud of every day.
Throughout the year, we have welcomed new members of staff and many new children and families into our school community. It has been wonderful to see new friendships form and for everyone to settle so positively into school life.
Our pupils have much to be proud of academically. We celebrated stronger end of year outcomes across both key stages, reflecting the effort and determination shown by our children and the excellent teaching and support they receive throughout their time with us.
Beyond the classroom, the opportunities available to our pupils have been exceptional. Children have represented the school in countless sporting competitions, demonstrating teamwork, resilience and sportsmanship. This year also saw us take part in Young Voices for the very first time, creating memories that our children will treasure for years to come.
We have enjoyed two highly successful residential visits, with pupils making lasting memories at Arthog and Liverpool, developing independence, confidence and friendships along the way. We also celebrated our first ever Net Zero Day, helping children understand the importance of sustainability and how even small actions can make a difference to the world around us.
The school year has been filled with moments of creativity, celebration and joy. From our wonderful Christmas performances and dance shows to assemblies, rock concerts, productions and achievement celebrations, our children have consistently amazed us with their talents, enthusiasm and confidence.
I would also like to pay tribute to our incredible Friends of Bicton School (FOBS). Through their hard work, enthusiasm and commitment, they have raised almost £9,000 this year. These funds make a real difference to the opportunities and experiences we can provide for our children, and we are extremely grateful for everything they do.
Most importantly, none of these achievements happen in isolation. They are only possible because of the strong partnerships between parents, staff, governors, SCEAT, the church and our wider community. Your encouragement, support and trust enable our children to flourish, and together we continue to create a school of which we can all be proud.
As we bring this school year to a close, I would like to thank every member of our school community for your support and kindness throughout the year. It has been a privilege to watch our children learn, grow and succeed.
We wish all of our families a happy, restful and well-deserved summer break, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back on Thursday 3rd September for another exciting year ahead.
