Head of School Message
Dear parents/carers,
We have had a lovely week in school enjoying the sunshine and even managing to play on the field a couple of times! It has been lovely to see our new Reception children getting to know the other year groups. As the weather turns colder, please ensure named coats are brought into school. We are already accumulating a lot of unnamed school uniform so please make sure jumpers/cardigans are labelled with your child’s name.

Friday 10th October: ‘Hello Yellow’ – wear yellow for World Mental Health Day (non-uniform)

Netball Tournament
A group of our Y6 children went to the Corbet school on Wednesday for the first sports event of this year! Both teams played their socks off and finished 4th and 13th. Well done Team Bicton!
Football Success – Joshua
This week (on Sunday), Joshua was selected as ‘Player of the Match’ and will be the team captain at the next league match this coming Sunday. This was after scoring a top left corner goal, and the team’s first goal of the match. Well done Joshua!

Parent Dropins – Wednesday 22nd October
We are really looking forward to having the opportunity to talk to you about your child or children towards the end of this half term.
After the positive feedback we received last year, the Autumn term meeting will be an informal drop in. Instead of booking an appointment time slot, parents will be welcomed into the classrooms at any time within the given time frames. The teacher(s) will be available to talk to you about how your child has settled into their new class or year group, and you will have opportunity to look at the work your child has completed so far this year. If you have a specific concern that you would like to talk to the teacher about, please contact them directly via admin@bicton.shropshire.sch.uk to arrange a meeting.
We will be opening up the classrooms to parents from 2pm to 3pm, and then from 3.20pm – 5.20pm on Wednesday 22nd October.
Formal parent consultation appointments with bookable appointment slots will take place in the Spring term.
