Head of School Message
Dear Parents and Carers,
As we come to the end of a long and busy Autumn term, I want to take a moment to thank you for your incredible support over the last term. Your kind words, thoughtful cards, and generous gifts mean so much to all of us here at Bicton. It’s a privilege to work in partnership with you for the benefit of our children. This term, we also say a very special farewell to Mrs Ball, who is retiring after years of dedicated service in education and the last 18 months supporting us at Bicton. Her guidance has helped shape Bicton into the wonderful school we are and we wish her every happiness as she begins this exciting new chapter—especially with the arrival of her first grandchild, due on Christmas Day! On a personal note, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to our incredible staff. Their absolute commitment and dedication to our children, the strong relationships they build, and the care they show every single day make Bicton such a special place. I am truly grateful for all they do. Wishing you all a joyful Christmas filled with peace and happiness. We look forward to welcoming everyone back on
Tuesday, 6th January 2026.

Warm regards,
Mrs Mavin Head of School

A King is born Nativity
This year Reception and KS1 performed the Nativity play “A King is born”. The children worked really hard preparing and on the day they sang the songs beautifully and brought their characters to life brilliantly.
We hope you all enjoyed watching it!
Twinkly Twinkly Nativity
Thank you all so much for coming to watch nursery’s Christmas performance. We are incredibly proud of the children, they were all absolutely amazing.
A big thank you for all your support at home learning and practising the songs.
Have a wonderful weekend 🎄✨
Year 1’s fieldwork
Year 1 have been busy geographers, investigating the question: ‘What is the most common house type on Bicton Lane?’ To find out, they headed outdoors for some hands-on fieldwork! Armed with an ipad and tally charts, the children took photos of different houses, counted each type and recorded their findings.
