Head of School Message

Dear Parents and Carers,

What a week! The weather may have been miserable and wet, but inside school it has felt as warm, welcoming, and purposeful as ever. The children have been working incredibly hard, well-settled in their routines, and we’re so proud of their focus and determination.

It has been a real pleasure to show lots of prospective parents around the school this week. Walking through the classrooms and seeing our vision come to life in every space is always such a pleasure—children engaged in meaningful, purposeful activities, learning with enthusiasm and confidence! It’s a wonderful reminder of what makes our school community so special.

This week we also marked Remembrance Day, and the children showed great respect during our reflections. Mrs Gairy spoke to all the children about Anti-Bullying Week, and we were impressed by their thoughtful engagement and the conversations that followed. Yesterday’s skipping workshop was a huge success—thank you so much for the donations that helped make this possible. The children loved it and showed fantastic energy and teamwork.

Today we’ve been supporting Children in Need, and the atmosphere has been full of fun and excitement! The Strictly Dance Challenge was a particular highlight, and it was lovely to see everyone getting involved. Thank you in advance for your contributions to this important cause; your generosity really does make a difference.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support. I hope you have a lovely (and dry!) weekend.

Evie’s Blue Peter success

Evie in Maple class recently received her Blue Peter book badge that was designed by Sir Quentin Blake! She told them everything she loves about her favourite book series Bunny vs Monkey, alongside some illustrations she had  created of her most loved characters.
We’d love to see lots more children sharing in the joy for things they are passionate about and living out our vision!

Visit the Blue Peter website to find out about each badge and discover how you can join the club and get your hands on one!

Skipping workshop

Willow class participated in the whole school skipping workshop where we played some really fun games and learnt the basics of skipping.

It took a lot of perseverance for the children to learn a brand new skill but they all tried really hard.

We look forward to seeing all the children enjoying putting their new skipping skills into practice at break and lunch.

Skipping workshop

Oak class participated in the whole school skipping workshop where we were taught skipping techniques and rhymes.
It took a lot of perseverance to complete a long rope rhyme but it was great fun!
Hopefully the children will enjoy putting their new skipping skills into practice on the playground.

Remembrance

The children were very respectful during our two minute silence on Tuesday,  impressing us all. They watched a short Remembrance Day film on CBeebies and made a poppy using dried leaves. The children liked crunching the leaves, listening to the sound. They all showed excellent fine motor skills, using a pincer fingers to place the small pieces of leaves onto a poppy template.
