Head of School Message

Dear parents/carers,

What a week! I am so very proud of our Bicton family and the way we have pulled together to get through the week.  The children have been fantastic in these difficult conditions and have shown brilliant resilience in the face of favourite activities being cancelled, planned trips not taking place and everything just feeling a bit ‘different’.  They have all been superstars.

We are REALLY looking forward to a cooler week next week and our much-anticipated Sports Day on Wednesday!

By the end of next week, a letter with staffing arrangements for next year will be sent out.  Thank you for being patient as we finalise these details.

A reminder of key dates over the last 3 weeks of term:

Wednesday 1st July – Sports Day.  KS2 9.30am start, KS1/YR 1.30pm start.  Parents/carers welcome to stay over lunchtime.

Monday 6th/Tuesday 7th July – Year 7 transition days

Tuesday 7th July – Transition morning at Bicton

Thursday 9th July – Year 6 Leavers’ Meal

Thursday 9th July 9.15am – Whole School Celebration Assembly with performances from Reception – Year 5.

Friday 10th July 2.30pm – iRock End of Term Concert

Friday 10th July from 3.30pm – FOBs Summer Fete

Friday 17th July 10am – Year 6 Leavers’ Assembly

Have a super weekend everyone,

WOW!  What an evening last Friday at the FOBS Football Tournament!  A HUGE thank you to Christian and Karolina (parents of Milan and Cassius) who ran the tournament.  They have an amazing diverse and welcoming football club with teams for all ages, so please follow them on Instagram.  https://www.instagram.com/fc_nations?igsh=ZmxzbDdiM2VuemJq

We were so thrilled at the turnout and the fantastic community atmosphere!  Massive congratulations to the winning team – Florence A’s dad, Florence P’s uncle, Frankie D’s cousin, Jacob and Jude’s mum (and our FOBS DJ), and Ella’s dad.

And commiserations and a huge well done to all the teams for their hard work!

UPCOMING EVENTS – MARK YOUR CALENDARS!!

SPORTS DAY – Wednesday, 1 July FROM 9:30AM TO 3:00PM

We can’t wait to see all the children participating in Sports Day next week!  FOBS will be selling bacon and sausage baps, crisps, homemade baked goods, fizzy pop, water, tea and coffee, so please wander over to our table and recharge your batteries (and ready yourself for the parent races) with some food and drink!

SUMMER FETE – Friday, 10 July FROM 3:30PM ONWARDS

Groovy Sun

We’re hoping to make this year’s summer fete bigger and better than ever!  If you have an idea for a stall that you would like to run with proceeds to go to FOBS, please let us know!  It could be a game, selling homemade goods, a craft project for the kids, etc!

THANK YOU

A very big and cool thank you to two parents who very kindly made donations this week so that FOBS could supply ice lollies to the children to help them cool down in this heat!

A very big and grateful thank you to Ian, dad of Rosalie and Angus, who completed a gruelling triathlon and raised £925 for FOBS!

And finally, an absolutely MASSIVE thank you to the grandfather of Rosalie and Angus who donated a huge £1,000 to FOBS this week!!!
